Dick Rosenthal {l Wrote}:Well, I guess we found out last night that the Canes are not as gutless as the Rangers. In other news, Joe Woll will take to the ice to try and stave off a sweep of the Leafs by the Miami Pussycats. He wasn't bad in this relief appearance in Game 3. Was basically left hung out to dry on the OT goal by a D that refused to actually defend anyone.

And Joe Woll comes up big in extending the Maple Leafs season for at least one more night, stopping 24 of 25 shots in a 2-1 win.

It's funny how every 15 years or so there are people wearing crisp new Panthers tshirts and hats around South Florida for about a month. Other than that, you wouldn't know there was a team in the Everglades.

ATLeagle {l Wrote}:No mention that the Rangers hired a BC dad to coach the team?

The Caps are an AHL-level team that made the playoffs because the bottom of the east is hot garbage and they got three weeks of unsustainably amazing goaltending from Charlie Lindgren. Ovi, Carlson, Oshie, Backstrom and Van Riemsdyk and Pacioretty (who is my neighbor and renting Lars Eller's house for the season), are essentially all withered up and finished and guys like Sonny Milano, Sgarbossa, Aube-Kubel, Strobe, McIllrath (a former disastrous Rangers 1st round pick around 2012 or so) and Bear are basically career AHL guys. Even Tom Wilson looks like the miles have caught up with him as he turned 30. If the Rangers don't do anything stupid this should be a sweep--five games tops if the corpses on the top lines have a throwback day where they play like it was five years ago. I am truly looking forward to the Caps season next year--the way this roster is constructed they should be historically bad.
Dick Rosenthal {l Wrote}:There is something so satisfying in watching Tom Wilson complaining about Rempe turning Van Riemsdyke into a hood ornament. Hope to plant a Ranger flag in Pacioretti’s front yard tonight.
claver2010 {l Wrote}:angrydick was right, ovi is completely shot. just out for a casual skate cashing those $11m checks.
not too much to read into last night or the series. first 2 periods were very meh but handled a bad team. re wilson, i think valiquette said it well during the intermission 'the thing about him is he's an absolute idiot'.
hopefully the fishsticks make brindamour work a couple of extra nights
