Agreed. There are still some pretty good teams in this year's NIT. Northwestern is one of them. They lost to Ohio State by one or two points. This will be a great opportunity for the team to shine, especially with a trip to MSG at stake.

Villanova has a modest banner up in the Pavillion from the year they won the NIT. And that's a school that's won the National Championship. There's no shame in celebrating (within reason) an NIT championship.

The NIT is bullshit. They might as well raise a huge banner that says "PARTICIPANT."
