Whether you think BC deserves a bid or not, you can't justify it if VTech gets in and BC is left out....BC finished higher in the conference standings and beat them head to head twice.
Head to head is not even a factor. They are comparing the entire season body of work and we come up a little short. It sux but we did this to ourselves.
If they are 2 of the last 8 teams, head to head (especially when they played 2 games) should certainly be a factor. Not to mention that even if you consider the "full body of work", BC finished higher in the standings, and I think had a better SOS...not sure about RPI.
How is VT's body of work at all good? They beat Duke once. They have nothing else, we finished higher in conference. VT is garbage and should not be in the tournament, whether or not we take their place.
Their body of work is not all that good, but neither is ours. Neither of us belong in but someone has to make it with this silly 68 team thing
Their body of work is one win, which completely belies the body of work theory. It's the same reason BC got in after beating Carolina two years ago, despite being a mediocre team. 1 marquee win, head to head against bubble teams, all that shit matters, even if they say it doesn't. The tourney selection committee is not Michael Lewis.
Hate agreeing with OJ - if VT gets in, it is for two reasons: (1) beat #1 team in country; (2) got screwed last two years. There is no other excuse for putting that piece of shit team in the tourney.
For the record, BC's resume is better than a lot of teams. They took abn RPI hit for two games against Wake that they could do nothing about. However, the only place they aren't a tourney team is this artificial ESPN created 1-6 vs. top-50 teams stat. Add that to the fact that they embarrassed themselves against Clemson with everyone that matters watching the game, and those are the only two reasons they are out. Period.
