Three things:

1. Excellent effort on defense, and the overall hustle was much improved, signified by Josh Southern's attempted steal and dive to the floor. "What are you guys thinking for MVP?," says Meter. "Team defense." says Huckaby.

2. I loved the decision to put Reggie in the post down the stretch. Great coaching decision.

3. Seth Greenburg blows. This team should be really good.

If we could ever combine this defense with our usual better offense we'd be onto something here. Seems like Reggie had it going again in the second half (especially attacking the rim) so hopefully that carries over to Clemson on Tuesday. The issue with VT appears to be that they have Delaney, Allen and precisely no other useful basketball players. Although true, I can't imagine we're going to win the game we have left in Blacksburg later this season.

Would have liked to see Reggie finish a few more of those layups, though admittedly they looked pretty tough/well defended

Davila is legit in the paint. They just don't use him. Even with those 2 guys alone, they should beat BC. Two NBA first round draft picks.

Very importnat win for BC. Needed soe confidence especially Reggie. God to see him going to the rim his frustration has been apparent in the past couple of games.

I assume I saw one of you, someone decked out in whalepants. Did they blast the heat in Conte for the first half? Walking to my seat it was unreal.

Most frustrating about Reggie is that Delaney wasn't even really d-ing him up too bad. When he actually decided he wanted to get in the paint in the late 2nd half, Delaney was 2 steps behind.

On offense though, Delaney is terrifying. You know the step-back 3 is coming and can't do anything to stop it. I was stunned he passed up the final shot, because if he took it, you knew it was going in.

Delaney was playing pretty tight D on Reggie though he finally figured out that he could just drive right past him.

The defense was great in the last 5 or so minutes. Reggie tipped a ball away from Jeff Allen down low late that really got people going. I was honestly surprised to see so many students behind us after the shitshow on Tuesday. Nice to see people get loud near the end.

In fairness to Greenburg, VT has lost three key players to injury. Not that I think he's a great coach, but they would be a lot better if Chaney, Hudson and Thompson were playing.

I agree the effort and overall help defense was much better tonight especially in the last 5 minutes (although he got a really good open look at the end to win it.)

As far as the students, the turn-out was atrocious. The students that were there were great and loud, but their were empty seats in the 2nd row behind the basket for a Saturday game at 1. That shouldn't happen and is really disappointing.

I was surprised and impressed by the non-student turnout though. It was legitimately loud at points down the stretch and there weren't too many open seats.

I think the UNC game scared a majority of the students off. It's pathetic.

Definitely. I'm a student here, and I know many people who's first game was the unc one, so they think we're terrible and are never gonna come again. I left today's game with my voice gone, but most people don't even know we won.

I actually am growing to hate the BC student body. You whalepants are right, it's much worse when you're removed from it.

The only way it'll change is win. As I said, Tuesday reminded me of 3 years ago. It was the first time the student section was filled, the team laid an egg and no one came back.

Delete those comments about Trapani.

Really disgustiad.

His play is open to critique and praise and of course his conduct at BC. That's it.
