Gameday Thread: Bryant (1-8)

Postby BCEagles25 on Sun Dec 19, 2010 9:46 am

Bryant has three scorers, and not much after that.

Leaders:
PG - Dobbs - 14.8 ppg, 5.4 apg
SF - Gresham - 13.3 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 39% 3pt
F - Alex Francis - 12.4 ppg, 7.4 rpg at 6'6

Gresham shoots a lot of three's, and he can shoot them well. He made 6 of 14 in a game this year and scored 28 in that game, a loss to FDU. Francis is a bit of a Raji type, at 6-6. However, Francis plays bigger and has alot of rebounds and blocks to his credit. He's a freshman, and will probably be really good over the next few years.

My guess:
BC will blow them out if they guard the arc and keep Francis off the glass. Bryant can make it close if Gresham shoots well.

Bryant is bad. I'm a little more concerned about Bucknell.

Bryant is one of the worst teams in Division one. Literally.

Agreed. But I'm sure we were more concerned about A&M than Yale.

Last year Bryant was the team that ended the longest losing streak in divison 1 history by losing to NJIT, which snapped something like a 90+ game losing streak for NJIT, and incidentally they were both on the schedule last year.

This game shouldn't be a problem. This team seems like they've learned their lesson about not overlooking anyone after the Yale loss.

Reggie Jackson looks nice going coast-to-coast, but if we can't guard the arc, it's gonna be Yale II.

Bryant doesn't shoot like a team that has 1 win in their last 37 games, but their defense is awful.

Awful defense. Awful, awful defense. The only offensive threat from Bryant is from 20 feet away, and they can't even guard that? Duke is going to wreck us.

ratcheted up the defense a little - went into the zone and it's helping.

A solid win. A couple of thunderous Reggie-dunks & a few fun minutes w/the full walk-on contingent. But most shocking to me is Biko's play, esp. 3-point shooting. 2 games in a row making 6 3-pointers. His shot looks much improved, he's taking good open shots (credit the offensive system), and he is confident, whether Maryland or lowly Bryant. Speaking of 3-point shooting, a great inbounds play yesterday w/Southern screening Reggie's man and giving him an open look from 3 on the wing, which he nailed.
