preseason rankings

when do they come out? and what will our preseason ranking be?

I'm guessing we will be somewhere between 20 and 30. Probably 26. Which is fine....and wouldn't suprise me due to the "they lost Rice" talking heads...

But if we're ranked outside of the top 30 I'll be insulted.

I doubt this. The preseason voters will be too focused on the loss of Rice.

BC will be in the low 20s. Too many writers are picking them high in the ACC. All the ACC guys have them in the 3-4 range. And the national guys have had them there too, BC homer Katz in particular. Even Vitale had them up there.

I say 24.

and looking at the early part of the schedule....... between the paradise jam, OOC games, and the big 10 challenge, we could potentially begin conference play with wins over the following teams:
-Saint Joe's, Purdue, Tennessee, Providence, and Michigan (assuming we end up playing some of these teams in the "jam")

That's a fantastic resume builder right out of the gate.

If we beat Michigan in Ann Arbor during the Big 11 Challenge then we'll be in the Top 15. Michigan is getting hyped this year.....which works to our advantage if we win that game.

I'm actually surprised we're getting any respect. I thought that Rice's graduation would lead to a slew of lazy journalist articles saying BC will have trouble replacing Rice. It's good writers are seeing the talent we see here. If only our student fans knew how good this year's team could be.

ESPN has had them anywhere from 17-26, NBAdraft.net had them at 21, insidehoops.com had them at 20ish, 19ish, and realcollegebasketball.com has them 14-17 range.

Luke Winn's preseason power rankings. We are not even on his radar. WTF is wrong with some of these writers? Call me naive, but when you get paid to write for a major sports website, shouldn't you at least have an inkling of a fucking clue what is going on in the sport? I mean, does he really not think BC is a top 50 team??

Rivals has them 59th! Proclaiming that they are too young and will be struggle without Rice. If Biko can step it up, that could get them off the bubble. Seriously, I can see totally missing the boat with a C-USA or Moutain West team but how do you not do a little more research for an ACC team?
