2010/11 schedule

Postby gene67 on Sun Aug 22, 2010 10:20 am

Shouldn't the schedule be coming out around now. I see a lot of schools have posted their out of conference schedule. Anyone have any news?

South Carolina on the road, even without Downey (who graduated I think) is going to be tricky. Beating "Tournament" could be tough, especially when "Tournament" includes Syracuse.

We also play Providence and Indiana in December. These are both games we should be able to win at home, although no cakewalk.

On the BC site, if you click on Buy Tickets, the intro says we are playing Holy Cross at home this year.

Not the worst schedule ever, certainly better than last years, but that RPI is going to be a killer (again) unless they do some damage in the Old Spice Tournament.

Kentucky will be good this year, but I'll be surprised if they're even close to last year's team. Although they have a bunch of good players coming in, they're more potential than instant success at this point. Last year was remarkable because all their freshmen (well, except Orton) were ready to go from Day 1.

But yes, given the current state of BC hoops, it'll be a 20-30 point loss.

This year, BC isn't expected to win many games, even though we think they can. An easier schedule that allows Donahue to establish his system, and show recruits that we can win is probably more favorable than a losing record playing against some stronger team. The schedule will improve and this years team probably wont go the NCAAs, regardless of RPI. I think the NIT is a huge possibility and I think Donahue will be a successful season, but I think this years schedule is good for this years team.

Hence the TBA on the time I'd bet...

They did the same thing in 2007 if you recall when the basketball team played that wild game against Providence shortly after the BC/VT title game. Has the ACCCG time been announced yet? If it's a night game again, it shouldn't conflict.
