ACC transfer rule

On one hand, I agree with them - the league shouldn't have such harsh rules for transferring within the conference, but on the other hand it's easy to see it as a total negative when you're UNC or Duke because you're less likely to be on the bad end of a transfer.

All that aside, it probably doesn't matter because most schools (as I understand it) will only give a conditional release anyway...meaning that in exchange for the release, they are going to limit where you can go - which usually ends up being conference foes and other yearly or scheduled competitors. So the ACC rules are essentially less strict because at least the player still technically have the option of going to another ACC school.
