For whatever odd reason, I found myself respecting cam's input at one time. His info was specific and he had reasons to back his statements up. But whatever flashes of intelligence I might have seen in my first impression has now completely vanished. Now that I know him better, he just seems pissed off, stuck up, and he spews more shit than a flock of pigeons.

"ESPNU 100 small forward Rod Odom has confirmed to an ESPN.com's Arizona affiliate site that he is very close to announcing his decision and could come as early as next Monday.

"Right now, I know everything I need to know," he told http://www.WildcatSportsReport.com. "It's just a matter of sorting everything out now."

Odom's list has been narrowed to Arizona, Boston College, West Virginia and Vanderbilt. He has already taken official visits to Vandy, Arizona, West Virginia and is planning a trip to B.C. this weekend (Oct. 3)."

Nice timing of the visit... but West Virginia? Really?

Anyone care to guess what this means for BC? Why bother making the visit across town if you've already decided on someplace else, which is good, right? That being said, something tells me he's not picking BC. :quadlaser

also if he has seen how we play, the flex offense, it will allow him as an SF to get a lot of time/growth and improvement at the highest level of college bball.

If he "knows everything he needs to know" and he hasn't taken his trip to BC yet, chances are he's going to Zona.

Hasn't he already been here a few times? Hopefully hes taking the trip to tell the coaches in person that hes going to commit

Why wouldn't he cancel the BC trip? He seems like a good kid and would have to understand that it is not right to string them along all weekend with absolutely zero intention of committing. I suppose I shouldn't assume a 17-year old kid will show that type of judgment but hasn't his father been involved with his decision as well? He's gotta know right from wrong. Let's just hope that he picks BC otherwise this class could crater quickly and BC hoops will be in for a sustained drought for several years.

I'm convinced he's picking BC. He's said that his mind is pretty much made up, yet he's still making the trip to BC. BC has been in the lead for months, and he's reportedly nearly committed twice. This was a tremendous recruitment by Al and staff, as this is the hardest they've gone after a player perhaps in their entire tenure.

I think if Odom commits, Noreen stays and BC basketball makes the Final Four in 2011. If Odom doesn't commit, there's an increased chance Noreen will split, but the 2011 team will still be sick.

You could also make the argument that if he "knows everything he needs to know" hes going to pick BC. It wouldn't make any sense for him to take the trip to BC if he has already decided he is going elsewhere. I think hes 99% sure on BC, this trip is just to sure it up.

What if he's just making the trip to do the honorable thing and reject Al to his face, like a man?

Do recruits do that often? It doesn't seem like something a 17 year old would do but who knows...i think the honorable thing to do would be to let Al know as soon as possible to let the BC staff move on with their recruiting.

Would not be honorable to use one of BC's officials to tell the coaching staff he's going somewhere else...

If he has already decided that he is committing in the next few days, then the BC trip sounds like an afterthought to me.

what about this majok majok, i prefer majok squared, guy. who is he? Scout and rivals both list him as a 4 but he is only 6'7.5

I second this notion. And besides, how cool would it be to have guys named Papa Samba Ndao and Majok Majok?

And how many good 6'7 guys have we had? Dudley? Smith?

If Al can reel him and Ndao in, I'd be pumped.
