Al is simply using his reverse psychology technique. He's going to ignore Shabazz until he really wants BC.

What's discouraging is that Shabazz is obsessed with G'Town. I have to imagine he'd have found a somewhat similar experience at BC... right?

Has anyone heard anything about Nittles or Mack Brown? They're two centers who apparently we've offered for 2010. Brown is 6'11"

Bryon Allen is a 2 star on scout and a 90 on ESPN. For what it's worth, anyways. A 90 rating on ESPN is alright, but why are we recruiting guards? Don't we need... Ummm... A Center? Like Monty Brown (6'11) or that Nittles kid who is 6'10 and weighs about 230.

I do like the sound of this:

"Allen is a strong and powerful guard who is absolutely tough as nails. He has become more of a true point guard within the last year as he's improved his ability to see the floor and distribute the ball, but is still an aggressive playmaking guard."

That sounds like Jackson, although less athletic.

We need a PG in the worst way that can get to the basket. We need a shot-blocker, but if Al convinced Allen to come here I wouldn't object, seems like a talented player. If you're going to take a flier, do it on an athletic kid. I disagree that he looks much less athletic than Jackson, he can throw down pretty easily even in warmups.

Well, I didn't say he was much less athletic. Just less athletic. Which isn't an insult considering Jackson's athleticism. Reggie Jackson might be the most athletic man to ever wear a BC basketball jersey. Bryon Allen looks like a good athlete, sure, but we need a 6'10+ center who is less of a stiff than Southern. Between Paris, Jackson, and now Heslip we have plenty of PG's. Maybe not true point guards, but Jackson is improving his court vision by leaps and bounds and we haven't even seen how Heslip runs the point although I know he can shoot among the best in the country.

Another good thing about Allen is he is teammates with Andre Drummond, and I believe was stated as saying Drummond is like a big little brother to him.

Yeah but it can't hurt. It might bring our chance from 0.01 to 0.05. Either way the kid is going to UCONN,but I'd like to have atleast a small chance and Allen may be the way.

Lot's of love for Shabazz in Boston. It would be great to recruit a local player. It's been a long while since this has has happened. Because of that. If BC want's him, Al needs to make that very clear, through the Boston basketball networks.

BTW anybody know the real story as to why he decomitted from here? I suspect it was Al saying we can't take you because of your grades- I say that because he said a couple of weeks ago that he was still trying to get his grades in order in order to get into UConn... :gun

Having Mo on the coaching staff was suppose to help the Eagles with recruiting in New England but it hasn't. How does Billy Baron decommit from URI and end up going to a rival ACC school thousands of miles away? Word is the Eagles are looking for a point guard

most likely to commit?

I thought this thread was depressing, but then I took a look at that New England Recruiting Report website. There's a lot of talent in NE and not a whole lot of interest in BC. Even Alex Murphy was spewing off a long list of schools without a mention of BC. The only guy who even mentioned the Eagles was Tharpe. BC has 6(!) seniors next year and ZERO recruiting buzz.

There's plenty of recruiting buzz in the Denver and Los Angeles areas over BC's open scholarships. I hear Al is taking a trip to Alaska to check on the local talent there.

we need a stud pg who can get the ball to our wings in scoring position in the worst way. i don't think heslip is gonna be that kind of pg next year, as pretty as his shot looks in warmups.

What Biko Paris doesn't light your fire?

Anyway, Byron Allen is the answer to your question, and BC hopefully will lock him up relatively soon. He's a 90 on ESPN FWIW.

The recruiting buzz is way too dead right now, even for Al Skinner's standards. There's six seniors next year. Wouldn't you think our scout/espn/and rivals pages would be filled with players? I don't understand.

Rod Days (6'6 4 star SF on scout) has been mentioned with interest of BC on several recruiting sites. However, I don't like small forwards named Rod.

Jeff Goodman just tweeted that Naadir Tharpe is going to commit to Providence tonight.

I'm afraid that Keno is going to kill it at the New England prep schools and relegate us to more of an afterthought than we already are at these schools.
