There's a John Calipari impersonator on Facebook, who sent this (100% fake) message to Marquis Teague, the five star point guard and recent commitment to Kentucky.
Teague's response, though, is 100% honest and true.

I'm no fan of Calipari, but I don't think Teague's "yea" proves anything.

Yeah, the fake cal should have tried to reference something concrete, like "hey, did you all get your checks" or something.

Hahaha if only this impersonator was a little more intelligent, Calipari would have been getting locked down by the NCAA now.

Biggest wasted opportunity since Skinner's last tournament appearance.

"The UK players' individual GPAs in the fall semester ranged from 3.59 to 1.667"

1.667?

Well they beat Ravenel's stellar performance last year of 0.00 (I believe, CAG can verify).

1.667?

Love this quote from that article:

Lame Kentucky Sports Newspaper {l Wrote}:Bell noted that UK players must have had at least a 1.8 grade-point average in the fall semester to be eligible in the spring, according to NCAA rules. Yet two UK players had GPAs below that standard: 1.667 and 1.765.

The minimum GPA requirement of 1.8 does not take effect until the start of an athlete's second year, so the 1.667 and 1.765 averages apparently belonged to players in their first years.

So...talk about a loophole for one-and-done-ers. There's no grade requirement at all for those kids. Of course, one-and-done-ers shouldn't exist anyways, but that's a different story.

Ha...and then the Kentucky fan in the comments makes a funny admission:

we don't pay Calipari and the players to come in here and get good grades. There major is basketball and winning championships. :)

"Ravenel.....Zero-point-zero."

Also: "Rakim Sanders.... has no grade point average. All classes withdrawn or dropped."
