Jackson wanted to be coddled and D wasn't going to play into it. Jackson came to his senses and realized he could flourish with D's coaching. D will work them hard and they will play with passion and heart and give every ounce of effort or sit.

I would think it was the strength and conditioning coach, who ran the off season workout. Attendance required by the team? It was probably strongly suggested per thier offseason workout manual.

I head that this is exactly how it went down. The team is being run to death right now. Donahue wants this team to be the most well-conditioned in the country. But, his attitude is no one should be there that doesn't want to be there.

Completely legit attitude and one that I'm all for. There's a major distinction between saying "I only want you here if you want to be here" and showing a player the door.

I would guess the conversation was more along the lines of "Hey, I understand that you came here to play for a different coach in a different style. I'd love to have you, but if you don't want to be here, I'll sign the papers." Makes the point clear without being a dick to your best player.
