According to Jeff Goodman a source told him that Skinner interviewed for the Clemson head coaching job. This might be a nice fit for Al

He's better than Purnell, however more boring his teams are to watch.

Will they put up a plaque in the Rec Plex like Yankee Stadium?

Will Lazy Elvis find the real live Elvis and recruit in the South?

Not a chance.

Clemson may be lame, but please.....

Where did the Lazy Elvis nickname come from?

Me.

I called him lazy 4 years ago in recruting and Hurley said if Al showed up in a building recruiting it was like an Elvis sighting....ergo Lazy Elvis.

I cannot remember who started calling Al "Lazy Elvis." I remember Elvis referred to as Lazy when gained all that weight just before he died. Perhaps, it refers to that fact that Al left the building (at least in terms of hard work) several years ago.

I hope he gets the job. I may not have wanted him coaching BC anymore, but I still respect the guy and hope he lands on his feet.

Good luck Al.

Yeah sure.

Sat on his ass for 7+ years and got lucky a few times from the sweat and work of Coen and then when Coen left --Elvis cruised and stole money for years at BC and then we hear he was always a Judge Crater and Amelia Earhardt and he walks away with $3M and deferred $2M and 13 years of at least $18M.

Fuck LAZY ELVIS.. respect is earned by hard work and he was a lazy fucking bitch.

Lazy wasn't becasue he was fat...only his wallet stealing all that BC Cash.

Enjoy!

Combo of Bob Hurley Sr saying that when you saw Al actually out recruiting it was like Elvis was in the building and his lazy rap from the papers.

Clemson hires Brad Brownell. Skinner not even mentioned in article.

I had no idea Stansbury declined an offer.

I think we did much better than both Clemson and Wake.

I think Donahue still would have picked BC over Clemson and Wake because he wanted to stay in the Northeast and BC is closer to Philly where all his family is

Glad we didn't need to see him make that decision.

Agreed. Hated the search love the hire. And... I really love the hire when paired with the assistants he brought in. There is a lot of steak to this staff.

That said, the Clemson and Wake hire weren't that great. We would've done much better than them if we had kept Skinner. While I think both could've done MUCH better, Bromwell ain't all that bad. BTW, I am still laughing about Mooney screwing himself out of 3 head coaching jobs.

i'm digging Brownell for now. He wasn't my first choice, but compared to the thought of Skinner.... I didn't want Stansbury either so I was happy he decided to stay put.

Brownell certainly isn't a bad hire. But you would think a school like Clemson who has done very well for itself the past few years could do better.

I would rank the hires:
Donahue
Brownell
Bzdelik

I think Wake really missed the boat. Sure the NBA coaching experience looks great an all, but rumors have been floating around that Bzdelik doesn't like recruiting and was thinking about leaving for an NBA assistants role. Who knows if there is any meat to those rumors, but they are out there.

For the first time in a while, nice hire Gene.

Stansbury turned down Clemson to stay in Starkville? Really?
