THAD MOTTA ANSWERED 74's QUESTION ON ESPN 20 MINUTES AGO

Postby BCEagle74 on Mon Apr 05, 2010 7:26 pm

THAD -- Former Butler Head Coach and alum and Head Coach of Ohio State who hired Brad Stevens was asked why he is so successful?

Besides the usual good fundamentals, coaching skills everyone has...blah, blah blah...to paraphrase the KEY FACTOR, or trigger point on why Brad is so successful at Butler....

"Brad has done a great job recruiting and brought in some great kids and selling them on the Butler program in the past few years....!"

BADDA BING!!

Recruiting --JOBS 1-10!

Let's just hope Steve Donahue can really bring the recruiting charm and magic and sell the ACC, BC and Conte Forum to the All Americans and solid kids in America!

If recruiting were jobs 1-10, Paul Hewitt would have a basketball court named after him already.
I like BC basketball.

Agreed '74, Hewitt's baffling, almost Skinner like inability to competently coach in-game is a rarity in the college game where talent mostly outweighs all.

You can get all the players you want who are excited to be a part of the program, but if they can't play at the highest levels, that's where it ends.

Roy Williams at UNC is a great example of this...terrible in-game coach, but has 2 national titles strictly on top tier talent.
Is this the 5 o'clock free crack giveaway?

Better watch out, the Roy freaks will be all over you.
