My real hope is that not only does his work ethic spread, but that he, noreen, and big papa put some pressure on the starters for minutes - that was part of the problem this year - rakim can play like shit and Al has no one to bench him for.

Al didn't bench Sanders enough, but he went 10-deep, which was a huge surprise to me. I don't remember Al ever using the bench that much. I don't think the minutes Rakim got were due to lack of depth so much as a flawed belief in Sanders as a player. When it comes to Southern and the center position, we can't possibly bring in too many centers. I never thought someone could make me wish we had John Oates or Doornie back.
