Well, I'm biased because I have family members who went to Vandy but they've made 2 Sweet 16's since 2004. They also would have made an Elite 8 in 2007 if the refs had the balls to call an obvious travel against Jeff Green.

They are 12 for 30 in the game, which is probably just a "pretty good" shooting percentage from 3 point land. 36 points on 3 pointers is more than they get in most NBA games. The mere fact that Butler has enough sack and enough rebounds (offensive and defensive) to TAKE thirty 3-point-shots explains why there is such a scoring discrepency in this game.
