Last year: 34 games, 144 attempts: 4.24/game
This year: 14 games, 62 attempts: 4.43/game (I'm not going to count the game he got hurt in because that is such an outlier. He got hurt 3 or 4 minutes into the game, nor will I count the one three pointer he took in that game)

All I know is he is still chucking up way too many threes and not driving to the basket nearly enough. And I'm not going to even touch his traffic cone style defense.

This I will give you because I did count that 3. However, you will notice that 0.19 more 3's per game amount to one extra 3 over a 5 game span. Big whoop.

He has attacked the basket with far greater frequency than you give him credit for. It has been noticeable. In fact he's been given a bunch of offensive fouls recently because of it - too bad he can't control his body and has telegraphed his intentions/path from 12 feet out. You're right, short of a shot chart, we'll have to agree to disagree, but upon my observations he has been going to the hoop more than earlier in the season when he was taking long jumpers and hard baseline shots while covered. The frequency of 3's has remained the same throughout the season.


So my question to you is this - his 3 point % over the last 4 games matches the % for the season which means it has not contributed to any rise in shooting %. So if he's shot 48% over the last 4 games while increasing his season % from 32/33% to 39% - is it your contention that he's hitting tons of long-range (non-3) shots? Because that essentially is the only way he could be shooting that high a % without going to the basket more EDIT: (unless he was missing virtually all the shots he was taking while going to the basket early in the season).

In fairness, it's pretty hard to attack the basket when our entire ridiculous offense revolves around 5 guys crowding as tightly as humanly possible around the paint. Whenever he gets into the paint he either gets blocked or commits a charge because there is nowhere to go. This isn't a drive and kick offense, we don't have the personnel to do that.
