FSU has a really good defense. We'll struggle to get points close to the basket. Provided that we clean up the defensive boards moderately well, the game will come down to who shoots the ball better from the outside. I think Elmore, Jackson, and Roche pump in 30 off the bench primarily from the outside (Jackson has been shooting better, since he has been more selective), and I think the Eagles prevail 64-60.

Agreed it will be an ugly game. On offense you need to try and get the big defenders to step up away from the basket and then make good passes with quick shots underneath. My biggest fear is that they get shut down inside early and never go back, thus becoming one-dimensional and dependant on hot shooting. Especially when Alibi is out, they need to go on runs. On defense they need to play pressure D and front Alibi and Singleton as much as possible. Over the top passes should receive immediate help from the backside.

Did you think we were going to be blowing Clemson away at halftime? No. You didn't.

Ok first of all the game is 40 minutes not 20 so the halftime score is not relevant. They won by six which was a huge win, but that does not erase the rest of the games this year, which tell me a blowout against a good team is unlikely. Do you think we can regularly count on shooting 56% from the field while our opponent shoots 18% from 3 and 50% from the line? I'm not saying we won't win against FSU, but a prediction of an 18 point blowout seems excessive. We haven't blown anyone out unless you count Bryant, NJIT and St Francis.

I am afraid we will see the same Al Skinner teams we have always seen on Saturday. That is, after a very emotional win, they will come out cocky, thinking they can't lose, will play like shit and lose by 6, but only because they score 5-10 late garbage points. In other words it will not be a contest even though the score suggests it was.

Skinner has never been able to rein in the emotions of his teams, particularly when it comes to dealing with prosperity. Its why his teams rarely hold onto leads at the end of games, and "put-away" games are closer than they ever should be.
