No matter how well BC shoots, they can't match rebounding and interior defense on Duke.

I would not be surprised to see Duke up big early and at one time by over 40 points.

If BC plays as poorly as the last few weeks, they will get a monstrous beating.

If BC plays well early, they may have a chance.

i doubt it since the defensive intensity is gone and this team is like the coach's laid back persona...LAZY!

I share your optimism for tonight, but I would still be very cautious about the "turn the season around" aspect. Even if this team were to get their collective head out of their asses and play big tonight, I don't see that alone fixing the gaping problems this crew has. They are still very likely to not play as hard or up to their potential in other contests after tonight. If you can only show up for big games like Duke or UNC, then you're a BC fan, not a player.

I just can't see it. With the exception of last year, there's always been some kind of mental block with Duke (as opposed to with UNC). And this team is even more mentally blocked than normal based on results so far.

That reminds me, I think I may be the only person alive who hates Singler more than Scheyer. I think it's the fact that Singler might be actually good, while Scheyer is clearly only "Duke good", like Trajan Langdon. And Singler looks like he's retarded whether he's making a Scheyer face or not.

From an individual matchup standpoint, I think Trapani outplays Singler and Sanders can shutdown Scheyer (if Sanders shows up). Beyond those two guys, Duke doesn't scare me. Lance Thomas and Brian Zoubek are still stiffs so we probably won't be getting beat inside. In both of last year's games, none of the "big" men (Southern, Dunn, Zoubek, Thomas) did much so while I'm not a fan of the current starting lineup, it could work against Duke. Biko and Nolan Smith can be a wash and while Duke is a good defensive team, I think they still might have trouble with Sanders and Jackson.

There are so many wild cards in this game--team psyche, Sanders, shooting to name a few--that I think it can go in any direction. I'll call the upset:

with the "talent" (stupid word) that we have this year we should be able to beat duke but I don't see a guy on this team that could hit Tyrese's 3 point bomb from last year to put us up towards the end. If it gets that close I don't know if we have the composure to win. That being said I'd be surprised if we stayed in the game till the end. Prove me wrong eagles!

Where we are in the season we need to play a good game tonight to keep/gain the players focus.
