It's sad that I feel like I actually need to use my tickets for this game tonight (after skipping the Maine game) to make sure they don't drop this one.

Maine was rock bottom. If we lose to a voc-tech high school in New Jersey I don't think it counts in the standings since they are a high school team.

Al should start the last 5 off the bench. At least we'd see some effort and hustle.

Actually, it was a combination of the two. Dunn did play 10-15 minutes and had a block or two if I remember. He just threw his hands up whenever Hansbrough had the ball. Southern actually fouled out of that game (I checked the box score) which I must have overlooked while I was thinking "Holy shit, we're about to beat UNC."

He just puts his hands up in the air on defense and since he's tall he's a decent post defender. It's not because of his awesome footwork or mobility. Southern at least has been aggressively rebounding the last few games, but that's about the nicest thing I can say about him.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again: I totally agree here. Southern is dogshit - except when guys post up on him. He shows a good ability to slow down a guy, not fall for fakes, and force bad shots when post players take the back-to-the-basket route. Covering guys 8+ feet from the basket = dogshit. Help defense = dogshit. Stopping quick dribble drives or cuts to the basket = dogshit. But his low post D is solid. And that's what Hansborough loved to do, which is why Southern was semi-effective against him (Psycho T was an all-decade player after all).
