ESPN thinks he's a baller. I wonder if he's a viable PG option off the bench or whether he's a red-shirt. Our PG play, particularly when Biko is off the floor, has been putrid.

I hope he plays-We should be in win now mode given the team we have, although you rarely see midseason players have impact second halves of the season. I think it would be throwing him into the fire quickly to jump from HS/AAU to at Cameron Indoor in a couple months time.

No way he should play now. He's the PG of the future, hasn't played basketball even close to this level, and would only be good for half the season. Besides, this whole team will be back next year anyway.

He needs time to get acclimated to playing in this system before we throw him out vs. Duke, UNC, and Clemson.

Agreed, redshirt him and let him learn the system. No point in throwing him to the wolves when he won't be the starting PG till 2011-2012. Let him learn, play next year and take over the reigns in a couple of years.

so nobody is reporting as to whether or not he will play or red shirt? isn't that strange? if he was red-shirting wouldn't Handsome just come out and say so? Instead of saying he's "joining the team"? wouldn't they have already made a decision by now?

When has Al released a statement? Lord knows no local paper is asking for a comment/knows.

Coach Al Skinner and his Boston College Eagles, flying high with a .600 winning percentage, will welcome their newest member as the semester ends this month. Brady Heslip, a 6-foot-2-inch guard out of basketball-talent-filled Burlington, Ontario, is set to make his trek to Chestnut Hill.

When reached for comment, Skinner expressed his excitement in a reserved manner. "Brady will bring a whole new dynamic on inbounds plays - his ability to hold the ball for 4 seconds and calling timeout are strong to quite strong." He added, "There are no shortage of things I can do with him dribbling the shot clock down to 8 at half court." Asked to describe Heslip's electric passing skills, Al stated, "While I respect his talents, we can't have anything electric out there. Our primary focus will be to calm him down to the level of a comatose celery stick."

Skinner brought to light the reason for his aggressive recruiting of Heslip. "As you may know I have an extensive relationship with Eastern Clothing of Watertown. I could only assume Brady dresses well since Burlington Coat Factory obviously has a strong presence in his hometown. So that's a start. He told me he'd have his gentleman moustache in by the first week of January."

play him. if you can run hoops in asphalt jungle of burlington, Ontario and live to tell about it, then you can play in the ACC as a freshman.
