Is tourney even possible?

Postby ryrob on Wed Dec 09, 2009 10:21 pm

I'm going to be optimistic here for a second and say that BC wins the remainder of its non-conference games and is strong in ACC league play, going 9-7 or 10-6. Are the NCAAs even possible at this point, given the 3 horrific losses we already have?

UNI is not a horrific loss. They beat Iowa and Iowa State this week.

They were a NCAA tournament team (nearly knocked off Purdue) last year and pretty much didn't lose anybody to graduation. St. Joe's was a horrific loss. UNI was not.

Of course the tourney is possible. Last year we lost to St. Louis and Harvard. This year we lost to St. Joe's and Harvard (without our best player). Win 9 games in the ACC and we're in.....unless we lost to Bryant or Maine.....

If we beat South Carolina and go 9-7 in the ACC, we should be in.

We're going to make the Tournament despite this crap. We all know we'll upset UNC or Duke and come up with a few more signature wins and gets around an 8-10 seed.

At this point, Harvard is our least 'bad' loss. They had an RPI of 61going into the game, we had one of 74. But unless they make a lot of noise the rest of the way, it will still be a black mark on the resume.

No more stumbles, and good play in the ACC as mentioned above and we should be ok. But the inconsistency is really frustrating.
