Big11-ACC Challenge

Postby pick6pedro on Tue Dec 01, 2009 9:08 pm

ACC is 10-0 all time in this event.

Currently the Big11 has won the first 3 games, meaning the ACC must win 6/8 remaining games to keep the streak alive. Doable?

P.S. Duke and BC are the only undefeated teams in the Challenge and MSU is the only Big11 team with a winning record.

Possible, Maryland is up 7 with 4 minutes to go, assume Duke will beat Wisconsin, UNC MSU will be competitive, don't know anything about VT & Iowa.

I just kinda assumed that VT would win, because Iowa sucks.

I think the ACC will win 6-5.

Im positive MSU beat BC in OOC play in like 2005 and im pretty sure it was a big10/acc challenge game.

Completely unrelated, how is it decided which ACC team is held out of the challenge (acc=12 teams big 10=11)? It was GT this year

The dead last team in the ACC is left out. Top 11 ACC teams play against all 11 Big Ten teams. GT was 12th in the conference last year so they're sitting this one out.

BC is 3-0 in the challenge so you're probably thinking of some other game.

Just looked it up, BC did lose to Mich St. in the 05-06 season but i guess bc wasnt part of the challenge since it was their first year in the ACC

Correct...and as a side note, BC played them in the challenge in '06 and beat them.

ACC needs to take three of five tonight to have a winning record over the Big11. Tonights matchups with my own predictions

FSU vs. tOSU- ACC loss
BC vs. Michigan- ACC win
Miami vs. Minnesota- ACC win
Clemson vs. Illinois- ACC win
Duke vs. Wisconsin- ACC win
"...and Lane Stadium goes silent..."

I think Duke will win, but Wisconsin has been a very tough place to play in recent years.

Jesus Clemson blew a 20 point lead to Illinois at home!! This should be over by now...but BC and Miami won which makes it 5-4 ACC...If Duke takes care of business that will be 11 in a row...

I'd blame this on Duke and Clemson. "#5" Duke should have beaten Wisconsin.
