Salacious high-major scandal, aside... Fairfield is also quite banged up.

True frosh F is the only active player over 6'7" and all 3 starting guards are dinged with (I think) only 1 likely to play.

I expect the Stags will pack in a zone and let BC launch open 3's... while hoping to grab some boards. I can't see how BC wins by less than 20, let alone loses.

I've seen BC lose to way worse teams than this. With that said, I expect them to win comfortably.

So far, Mighty having an early role is a change. Chas Kelley more assertive than last year. Nice to see Donald Hand is back, and looks explosive. The PF depth spot looks like it belongs to Elijah Strong, not Jayden Hastings

Very impressed from what I see out of Strong. Guards trust him enough to seek him out early in the shot clock, keeps his eyes up when he dribbles and looks like a solid passer from the post and top of the arc. Active defender too, and pretty quick for his size. Definitely not a plodder

We're not going to set the world on fire, but a guy like Post can win you a lot of college games if there are 6-7 other guys who are reasonably competent.

These first games are always a little weird. Overall I like what I’m seeing.

The lineup we closed the half with wasn’t it though.

Feminism: Eve eats ALL the apples, gives God the middle finder when He confronts her, and has the serpent serve Adam with an injunction ordering him to stay away from her AND to provide her food and shelter because he dragged her out of the Garden.

A little surprised Hastings didn't play. Grant mentioned in the presser that "anyone who was eligible to play did play". Wonder what's going on there. Hastings warmed up and certainly looked healthy. Wouldn't shock me if they were trying to gray-shirt him.

This.

Probably the first time in a decade that I cared enough about BC BB to watch the opener.

Given the status of football, and the promise of both hockey and hoops, this certainly feels like the most promising time to be a BC fan in the past 10 years.

There was actually more to this story ... apparently one of the assistant coaches got prostitutes for the players (his son is on the roster and is one of Fairfield's highest rated recruits in recent memory although looks like didn't score/play vs BC).

The former HC, Jay Young, resigned and rumor was he did so after the coach in question was trying to blackmail as stated above. The assistant in question was still on the roster until recently (appears he is gone now but was given admin leave initially in part because he threatened to sue on racial grounds or some bullshit).

Edit: I heard this from people very close to Fairfield Prep / Fairfield U who would definitely know the details but take it fwiw.
