If Kraft was going to pick Grant, then he might as well have picked Coen. Coen is the most successful CAA coach and maybe that is not saying much, but whatever. I'm happy we can keep Coen for the rest of his career now.
That said, as a BC fan, I hope that Grant gives you guys a national championship.

People really like the guy at CofC. It’s not the total disaster of Jim Christian but this isn’t an inspired hire.

They paid a search firm to hire a guy Kraft originally wanted to hire at Temple. Typical.
I'll give Grant a chance because of my stupid loyalty to this program but he just went 9-10. I know it was a fugazi season, but still, makes no sense.

I was more impressed with the groundwork he laid at Winthrop that appears to have directly led (15 years later) to their 24-1 season this year.

They hired the search firm to find candidates as much as they fired Christian weeks ago to get an early jump on the hiring process.

In terms of splash this hire makes the potential Gates hire look like a hydrogen bomb explosion over the Pacific. I didn’t think our search could possibly get any less imaginative.

You may not like the hire, but Earl Grant is as imaginative as it could possibly get. No one had him on the radar. Though, kudos to the PennLive who at least mentioned him in their article of potential candidates for the PSU job (which apparently had the same criteria/restraints).
