The point has nothing to do with whether this is a terrible hire or it's the next Al Skinner, or how bored you are or right you are, or how self masturbatory you are in the 81 potential candidates you lined up not including the guy picked so you tell everybody else they are too negative, don't know anything, and this could be good or bad, successful or unsuccessful, you really don't care about the program, and you will have predicted one or the other, Brad Stevens.

The only thing that matters is this is fucking boring. And BC doesn't care. So neither do we for 5 more years. The rest is just you trying to figure out what to say since there's no way to spin this guy as a successful prediction on your part.

HJS hopes he is wrong, but might actually be right. He doesn't know anything about this coach BUT NEITHER DO YOU CLOWNS, so he could be good. Or he could be bad. Jurkovic is a head case, but a 5 star head case, so he might be good. But only 6 wins good. And six wins are not great but HARD SCHEDULE! Anyway, back to Eisley he could be a home run, but he might not be. Or he could suck and they should hire Grant. BUT YOU DON'T KNOW GRANT. Err....wait it's not grant? I typed it wrong, my bad I meant the guy they actually hired.

This is actually a good post, Madigan. You should feel good about yourself. The USC loss horrible. Wasn’t that the game that ended with one of our players driving for a layup as time expires when we were down 3? I remember exactly where I was during the game, but have blocked out the details of the game. Of course, a couple of weeks later Kolanos did his thing and slayed the hockey drought, so the USC choke faded. The UW-M loss was terrible, but I had just returned from a lengthy sojourn in a horrible shithole country and was spending the weekend in my former Manhattan stomping grounds. I got exceedingly drunk and woke up the next morning in the dorm room of some Strasberg Theatre chick from NYU without any memory or understanding of how I got there—I have a vague recollection of doing something awful and inappropriate in the Brass Monkey, but can not recall specifics. Anyway, the Method Actress was, however, very consoling that morning and I still think of her fondly when someone mentions method acting. I think when Towely got caught looking the wrong way against Vanilla No Fun was the most traumatizing of all the Skinner choke jobs. Just fucking horrible and I had to watch it in the Hawk and Dove surrounded by drunk junior hill staffers because reasons, while the future Mrs Rosenthal wondered why I was so mad “because they tried really hard.” The only upside of that evening was goading a compatriot of mine into going home with the plump LD for Barbara Boxer and him telling me the next day that he was so drunk he shat her bed after he passed out after coitus and she still gave him her phone number as he left her befouled Barracks Row Townhouse.

Also, I insist on ignoring the fact that our new coach is named Earl, because My Name is Earl was only a middling comedy and he is such an unknown that I think if we just refer to him as Eddie, the national media will just run with it and then we can make Eddy Grant references or insist that he is actually the Eddy Grant and get Blauds to write an article about how good he looks considering Electric Avenue came out 40+ years ago.

I was disappointed by the hire. Not nearly as disappointed as when we hired JC, but feel we could have done better. That being said, I was very impressed with Grant's press conference and am willing to give him a chance.

Good luck coach.

You might have been a little young, but my fondest memories of BC in March were when I wasn't allowed to be a BC fan, Spring Break in Daytona Beach Shores, 1994. Try sharing a 2 bedroom condo with a bunch of girls who graduated from BU that you want to continue having sex with, and rooting for BC, and see how far that gets you?

As a man of Troy I was in the Coliseum (a house of horrors for an old ranger fan like yourself) that night and laughed when Kenny Harley drove and took a contested layup down 3 as the game ended. Backup College at its finest!

Georgetown '07 on St. Patrick's Day was a rough one. I believe Captain Oates handed the ball over to a Georgetown player near the end or something odd happened where it was like, "Why would you do that?" Georgetown coached by the infamous JTIII went to the final 4. If what's his face is not thrown out of BC we probably make a major run that year (although hard to not count out Skinner having a WTF). He was hitting jump shots and nobody could get near the rim! I was at the Society Bar (RIP) that afternoon. Only BC picks a bar with one bathroom stall for the entire bar as its game watch bar. My ex girlfriend from my days at the Heights was there and she stood next to me chatting the entire game (we had not seen each other in about 5 years) and at a certain point I was like wow I guess this happening. The game ends and I then found out the bro to her left that sat and drank by himself and spoke to nobody was her boyfriend. As the buzzer sounded he grabbed her by the elbow and took her out of the bar as I realized she and I were holding hands at the end of the game. FUCK GEORGETOWN and anyone who has family that went there! :ace

Thanks Cawthorn.

I don’t recall the circumstances exactly but my group was ejected from the Greatest Bar about 5 minutes after the loss to UWM. Fun times.

Women are women are women. The future Mrs. 2001eagle will never understand why I broke a bar stool at some shithole place in Newport News when *** ******* was called for that goaltend and immediately exited to curse at the skies.

And thanks for reminding me about 2007. I had somehow forgotten that debacle. A tradition like no other.

You know, my Grandfather, who saved your terrible high school alma mater from bankruptcy held a graduate degree from Georgetown. Is your hostility to Georgetown a result of your failure to marry one of his granddaughters and thus gain entry into the extended O'Rosenthal clan? And did I ever meet your BC girlfriend? Aside from your romantic interactions with my assorted family and friends (and it is too bad it didn't work out for you with Mo--she makes a shit ton of money now and the guy you lost to has been unemployed for years and living the life of a pampered North Shore Haus Frau and playing Shoreacres every day) , my favorite was the GC's daughter. It's hard not to love this Georgetown team, especially led by a New York Knicks great (I wish I had season tickets if for no other reason than to admire his number in the rafters). Picked to finish last in the Big East and wins the tournament? I will gleefully enjoy what I hope is a long Georgetown run, even if it is at the expense of my hobbled Wolverines.

St. Patrick's Day 2007 was a bizarre year because there was a blizzard on the 16th that hammered the northeast. I was on the rowing team at the time and we were headed to New Jersey for a race. It took us six hours just to get to the Connecticut border. All of our parents were calling the club sports office asking why in God's name they had allowed us to even go on the trip unaware that it was because our coach was on the spectrum and didn't care about bad weather on Friday because it was supposed to be fine for racing on Saturday. I believe one parent even got a hold of Gene D who had no idea what was going on, but that had more to do with him being Gene D than with us just being a club sport. We left Chestnut Hill at 11 and I think ended up back by 9PM having only made it as far as Union, CT. Then, the next day, all the snow melted and I remember drunkenly walking around campus in shirt sleeves bemoaning the Georgetown loss. I believe we were winning at the half and my father was not letting the Georgetown members of the family gathered at their house for Saint Patrick's Day forget it.

One of my favorite anecdotes from that sojourn was that one of the seniors was trying to bang a freshman coxswain that was being banged by one of the other seniors. She was in our van with the first senior and he made us drive to Upper Campus to drop her off instead of making her walk back. Predictably, the van got stuck on a hill and we had to push it out adding a good hour to the whole experience. No joke that coxswain ended up dropping out of BC and moving to Nepal with the senior she was banging while he was there on a Fulbright.

Anyway, Hoya Saxa.

:ace

Sure, she appeared to be bipolar as best I could tell, but you'd have been set up nicely and you seem to like crazy.

I thought you wanted season tickets to show your contempt for the United States and solidarity with the Chicoms? I mean, Vichy America--or wherever our Chinese overlords decide to relocate the capital--is going to need some American military quislings to put an American veneer on their new client state. Your only problem is that you will be competing against of Sec Def, TRADOC commander and most of the Joint Chiefs for the honor of playing the role of Marshall Petain (who, in his defense, had actually won a war in his lifetime).

For your sins, I hereby sentence you to watching Ewing's finger roll bounce off the back of the iron against the Pacers 1000 times or watching him inexplicably handing the keys to the Knicks Championship Drive off to a stone cold John Starks in the 4th quarter against Houston in Game 7.

I started to admire Georgetown when the 4th greatest POTUS sent his daughter (the most eligible bachelorette in the entire world) there to earn her law degree. Alas, my admiration of this school will not help them much when they take to the court against Colorado (probably the 6th best hoops team West of the Mississippi river.)

Once Georgetown drops its religious affiliation there will be plenty around BC crowing about being the country's leading Jesuit institution.

Didn't they already drop their religious affiliation? I mean I don't believe they have held the line on a single progressive agenda item--abortion in particular. I recognize that 95% of Jesuits are gay atheists who are only interested in destroying the Catholic Church from the inside and using the seminaries as pick up bars, but I think even Pope Communist won't give an inch on abortion.

I think it is best to stick with crowing about the fact that Georgetown undergrad still produces a significantly higher number of insufferable douchebags than BC--elvii notwithstanding.

second place at best. she took one on the chin which is something that can't be said for the 4 ladies that played nospace's wang like a circus seal but never got the fishy shot in the mouth as the reward. no girl takes a bigger "l" than those 4. oh, and the girl that you were engaged to from aslandia that found out her fiancé was gay when he called the whole thing off - except in the end she likely dodged a bullet
