Pop and Hamilton are FAR better players than the Patriot League All Stars.

I don’t think anybody disagrees with the statement that Scott/Kelly/Karnik aren’t nearly as talented as Popovic, Jairus, or Thornton.

But I’d make a bet they aren’t nearly as lazy or entitled, and will be better teammates.

Yeah that's lazy last place ACC talk. Congrats.

We were talking about whis starting this year, not if Pop is better than Karnik. And truthfully Jairus sucked. Very underwhelming and frustrating player.

Okay. Those two are not starting alongside Mitchell.

You're the one that brought up Pop and Hamilton to suggest that it was similar. It's not. But we can use the moved goalposts if you need to.

Eh, don't care this much. We got 3 transfers from the MAAC who are clearly better than our outgoing ACC recruits season can only keep one interested for so long.

They'll start Heath, Tabbs, Langford (pick one), Scott and Mitchell. As TWB suggested we're not trying to create 1980's basketball here.

Pop and Jarius (Jared was really bad) are obviously more talented than a bunch of MAAC/Patriot League transfers, but the talent clearly didn't manifest in anything useful.

I said it was similar positionally. Scott is similar size to Jairus and Karnik replaced another big in Pop.

It would be young Langford over the older one. The problem is we would be one of if not the smallest team in power 5.

Like the yr where Agbai and Beerbohm started at the C and PF. Both were about 6'8", iirc. Let's hope they can bring in the UAB transfer. Might look skinny, but he can shoot from the outside, and most of all he has the height.

The original comment was about skill set, not position or size. They are not going to run out traditional positions. They're going to get the best team on the floor. Scott may beat out both Langfords and Felder for one of the two open sports after Mitchell, Tabbs and Heath. In fact I think he probably will, but it's not a foregone conclusion. But analyzing this as if there will be traditional positions is a waste of time. I understand that college basketball teams can still use those outdated concepts, but BC doesn't have that luxury with the talent they have.

What I projected as starters was based of Jimmy using a similar lineup last year. Jairus is similar to Scott as a tweeter 3/4, Steff and Karnik for Pop as a center. If it was up to me it would be Heath, Tabbs, young Langford, Steff and Felder (he was so young that he may still be getting taller). Start the talent and go vets off the bench. This team may even use several different starting 5's depending matchup.

Tons of transfers that frankly haven't been good even at their new schools. Having only 2 of these kids land at a P5 school is a real knock against his recruiting.

Idy Diallo - Out of basketball
Matt Milon - Meh at UCF
SBT - Lighting up the DII level
AJ Turner - Meh at Northwestern
Ty Graves - Playing (not well) at NC Central (whatever that is)
Mike Sagay - Averaged 10 a game playing in DII
VBJ - UofMilwaukee
Avery Wilson - Somewhere in Lousiana
Jarius Hamilton - Maryland
Julian Riswain - USF (San Francisco)

At least JC is recruiting 1 year kids so the new coach can clean the roster out quickly upon his departure.

BC could use all the 6’9” players they can get so good work by the staff

also, not sold on the 7 footer being a contributor right away as a freshman.

Freshman- Demaar Langford (G/F) JVB (C)

Sophomore- Tabbs (G) Heath (G) Felder (F) Williams (F)

Junior- Makai Langford (G)

Senior- Mitchell (F) Luka (F/C)

5th year Transfers- Kelly (G) Scott (F) Adams (F/C)

Waiting on eligibility one year left- Karnik (F/C)

If i had to guess on a lineup (if Tabbs is 100%)

PG- Heath
SG- Tabbs
SF- Scott
PF- Mitchell
C- Adams

Kelly and Felder first ones off the bench with the Langfords also getting plenty of minutes. Kamari Williams looked good at the end of the year and could see more playing time. 5 open scholarships for next year and could be 6 if Karnik plays and we only have two current offers out that could actually be commits, the two local kids that play for Langford and JVB AAU team. Most teams have 20+ offers out to players at this time. I get it that its tough with no AAU to recruit but Jimmy is gonna have to pretend like he’ll be here next year again.

One of the Langfords will start depending on whether JC wants to go three guard or 3 forward will decide which one. Felder might have a shot over Adams as well. Been over this, but stop thinking traditional CYO basketball positions, they aren't a thing anymore.
