I'm feeling a conte morgue special today. Predict you can hear the sound of the ball bouncing on the broadcast.

The only thing we have going for us today is that SLU is a team full of head cases. Physically and athletically they are much better than us and if they show up they will pound us. The good news for us, having watched them fairly closely the last two or three years, I suspect that our uniquely shitty atmosphere will cause them to go to sleep for ten minutes or so today which will keep it much closer than it should be. Of course, if it is close down the stretch they will wake up and shut us down.

This is some of the worse basketball I have ever watched.
Was that 8 straight turnovers?
Jesus Christ just fire Christian already.

I’ll go back to the point that I don’t care who is in the recruiting class next year.
You can’t lose to Belmont, St Louis and DePaul, JC needs to go

I just shut off the game; I couldn’t take this anymore. What a pathetic exhibition.

What a dumb schedule this year. All of these no upside games.
Still fire Christian, you aren’t going to be able to raise the money for the facility without a new coach that doesn’t suck.

Can someone explain to me how our coaching staff fails to identify players like Hasahn French as recruiting targets when they are clearly physically superior to what we have on our roster and they are prepping in our backyard. I mean, this kid isn’t some scrawny kid who suddenly grew up once he got to Saint Louis. He was a man child right out of the box. There are a half dozen similar kids in the A-10 who all grew up and prepped within an hour of campus and would be the best player on our team if Christian has bothered with them. Kellen Grady (Davidson), who grew up 5 minutes from campus is probably the most egregious whiff, but there are four or five others who were within an hour. And I’m not talking about a guy like Obi Toppin who basically grew 8 inches during his PG and FR year a la David Robinson, I’m talking about guys who clearly had the size and athleticism to improve this shittastic roster.

The scheduling is dumb, but irrelevant when your basketball team plays offense like this

This is why I feel like we needed an A10 coach if we went the mid major route. Much better roster construction in that league than other mid majors, and coaches understand what type of under recruited guys you need to have.

I said this team could be a 8/9 NCAA tournament team. I’ll own that. The first three games looked really good, and I liked the Felder/Thorton/Heath addition to what we had. When you have no Heath on a team with no offensive depth, you’re going to get this type of shit.
Season isn’t over, but we’re looking at another year of “well, if X player was healthy and we just hadn’t lost to Y team...”

This season is very over. They’re going to go down to Richmond and get smoked on Saturday

Can anyone think of a University that would keep a coach with such a poor record, much of which is his own fault?

Yup. Richmond looked good last night. They should blow us out and we will struggle to win more than 3 conference games. We fucking suck.

I still like them at full strength. I’m not much of a sell-at-the-first-dip guy. I want to see how they mesh with Pop, Mitchell, the Hamiltons, Thronton, Heath and Felder. Various players in that grouping have been out here and there. That’s a talented core, and still our best team in years. Low bar, but I still think that team can win 18-ish games
Unfortunately Pop (and to a lesser extent Thorton because we have guards) leaving after this year puts that nucleus in a quandry... we need a big, like yesterday

There are some JC truthers on Twitter who will make any excuse. We should have hired Hopkins or Schmidt. We can still hire Schmidt or Coen tomorrow and be much better off.

They won’t score consistently enough. If you can’t beat Belmont and St Louis how on earth are we going to win many ACC games?
