That had to be one of the last games ever in Robert’s center. I they were building Conte at the start of 87-88 but I thought they were playing g games in there that season.

I'm pretty sure the first season played in Conte was 88-89. I think you're right about that Siena game being one of the last played in Roberts.

IIRC they played at least one game that spring of '88 in the old Garden - I think it was Georgetown or St. John's? Does anyone else remember this? Looking at the interwebs records, it doesn't show any games at the Garden, but I know it happened because it was one and only time I ever saw a game in the old Garden and remembered thinking that it made the old Chicago Stadium look like a palace, and that's saying something. (both had that unmistakable yet magical urine and cigar smell in the stairwells)

Was the late '88 game against Georgetown in the Garden the up set win? I feel like it was, but I don't remember for sure, I think Barros took the ball coast to coast in a tie game, one of those plays where the announcers praised the coach for not calling a timeout and just letting the players go for it.

Went to a few HC-BC games at the Roberts Center in the 70s and 80s....bandbox much like HC's Hart Center today or PC's Alumni Hall which has been used for men's games on rare occasions still.

While smallish...great venue to actually watch a game unlike the Conte today imo.

And yes, I am as older than shit as well :whalepants
