a lineup IRregardless of the circumstances that contains mez + vbj in year 4 is pretty unacceptable

I don't see how you can pin their lack of closing games on Christian. Recruiting/depth, fine, but that's a stretch...if we had Mitchell today, we win.

Really sucks to end the ACC season at 7-11 when we easily could have been 11-7.

Gotta show up to the ACC tourney, play well, get an NIT bid, and make a run to build momentum for next year. 2018-19 will be "put up or show up" time for JC, and it's tourney or bust for him at that point.

We seemed to have a lot of passes to no one late in the game.

so then who's fault is it that they turn into a cyo girls team in the last 5 minutes of the game? if it's not the coach's fault should we blame god?

"damn you god - why can't you snap your magic fingers and help my team not lose in the last 5 minutes of the game. if you don't start snapping those magic fingers, i'm going to be forced to find a new imaginary friend!!!!!"

i would suggest that we might be able to blame the cheerleaders but people here get overly protective of the cheerleaders

The JC throwing the ball away was Jordan Chatman not Jim Christian.

If you want to blame Christian for shitty recruiting that forced guys like Meznieks and Wilson into minutes, then fine, but in the end he can't make the plays for the players. FSU has superior athletes and won out.

They've won just as many games in the final 5 minutes as they've lost

let's give t.s. slaughter a pass too. it's not his fault the players can't read his mind and execute the plays that he doesn't call.

soda and iced cream for everyone because they tried really hard and played really close. we're only boston college after all, so that should be good enough.

The fact that you tried to compare the coaching of football (mostly an X's and O's game) with basketball (where individual players' talent and creativity can trump any game plan) tells me all I need to know about your knowledge of the topic.

Basketball coaches can and often do get by on recruiting alone - a football coach wouldn't stand a chance without a decent game plan.

so you are saying that an empty chair could win games as long as the empty chair had talent that could improvise and trump the other team's game plan. that tells me all i need to know about your knowledge of the topic

empty chairs cost a lot less than basketball coaches. we should try to get by on empty chair alone and see where that gets us. that way, the fans would be back to dressing like the coach so the narcissistic nerds win too!!! yay - unlimited topings on our iced cream!!!!

atl's commenters remain the best thing on the interwebs.

debating whether jc is adhering to proper dress code given he doesn't wear a tie

We're at worst making the CBI, it would just be a bummer considering we are a couple 1 point losses away from being mentioned out of Joe Lunardi's mouth in March

I'm glad this is finally being addressed. Our program will never get back to respectability as long as our coach has a visible undershirt.

i think we've learned in the past that the program will not pay to play in the cbi or the other one that charges you an admission fee to participate in their little tournament

No ACC teams played last year and no P5 school has played since Colorado in 2015
