Had they won this past weekend, Saturday plus a tourney win would have had them dancing.

With regards to Brooklyn, is BC definitely locked in to Tuesday in Brooklyn ? Would best case scenario be a 10 seed (assuming BC beat FSU, Clemson beats Cuse, so ND gets 9 & BC gets 10). How would the tie break with Cuse work with season split and the same record assuming a BC W and Cuse L on Sat.

When we look at ACC tournament scenarios, I think of the bottom 3 Wake is the only team with enough life at this point to beat us. Beyond that, probably don't want to play ND or Louisville in the next round but probably not worth the effort to look that far ahead

A lot of Cuse fans at Maryann's

A lot of Cuse fans at Conte

Fun to heckle in both places

Was at the game, and yeah if Mitchell is hurt that's obviously a big loss

I think they can jump cuse & fsu (win on saturday / cuse lose vs clem) but that still gets them to 10 which would play pitt on Tuesday

win on tues and they're playing someone in the 5/6/7 range (ncst, u, vt, ville)

A BC win would give them the tiebreaker over FSU and jump them all the way to 10 (we have the tiebreaker over Cuse via the Duke win).

A BC loss and a Cuse loss would make us 11th.

A BC loss and a Cuse win would make us 12th.

So yes BC is playing on Tuesday.

I asked this in previous thread but don’t think anyone answered. Has anyone gone to Tuesday in Brooklyn for ACCT ? Stubhub is showing $6 general admission for both sessions that day. Can that be right, $6 to get in and effectively sit anywhere in arena ?

I'm almost positive it's GA except for a few rows of seats behind the bench they leave for the family/friends of the team.

I think BC would beat Wake this year. But just guessing, no real basis.

unlike free-pass-jimmy-mac, danny manning is fighting to keep his job because wake actually fires people for being terrible at what they are paid millions of dollars to not be terrible at

not sure if that makes wake more or less winnable as danny manning trying hard to coach may make wake even that much worse - just wanted to point out that i think jimmy mac should be fired for sucking at his job and that other programs are willing to fire coaches for sucking at their job
now in the street there is violence
and, and a lots of work to be done
no place to hang out our washing

Role player? Not sure i could disagree more. Sure his offensive game has been subpar this year...but he's arguably the best defender/rebounder/energy guy on the team. Would he be better coming off the bench for 25 minutes a game vs. 35? Sure but Hawkins got injured and it is what it is. But right now he's a poor man's dudley (minus the shooting of course). His putback slam last night was something we haven't seen from a BC big man in ages it seems.

I also don't expect his shooting issues to continue next year. Watching his HS highlights -- he can shoot, just a matter of confidence right now.

fwiw (and i honestly have no idea how much it truly is worth), i gotta imagine it'd be a pretty big red flag to any coach worth his salt if we fired a coach who went 18-13 (8-10) after going 0-18 and 2-16 the year before.

to me this is a lot different than the wake coach was in the first four and went 19-14 (9-9) last year. as a wake fan, this year i would be expecting progression beyond that, so 11-18 (4-13) would be a fireable offense to me.

similarly, if jimmy mac does not improve upon his record from this season next season and make the ncaa's, i would imagine he will be axed.

Pretty much the definition of a role player.

And the point was that he's a role player on a team that's not going anywhere, so I failed to see why the injury matters. Shut him down and make sure he's healthy next season.

This. I actually think he's a good coach. Last night was a clinic in coaching. He has his nights, and sometimes the team doesn't look ready coming out of the locker room, but he adjusts, calls good plays and generally has a good gameplan against the abnormal, like Cuse's zone. A prime example would be that BC never has much trouble with the press anymore - last night's absurd 10 second call notwithstanding - when a decent CYO team could have pressed the Al and Don teams out of the gym. Ask Bruce Pearl.

He also has shown a decent eye for recruiting the way that Al recruited - find the underrated guys that will be there four years. He's also clearly made Robinson and Bowman and Chatman better players while they were here, and while less obvious, the bigs have improved on his watch.

He's got a big red flag - he has no bench because the depth of the talent he has recruited isn't there, and there have been a ton of transfers. These aren't good things. But an AD can convince themselves after this season and this recruiting class that it is worth one more shot with this guy because there should be decent depth and an NCAA run. And when you build a program designed to win with seniors, it takes time to get seniors. It's taking this guy too long, but it is what it is.
