The bad version of BC Basketball appears to be showing up tonight.

Bowman and Robinson drive me nuts.

Luckily Hawkins is awesome

Hawkins is having a great game and nice touch from beyond the arc. Wasn't expecting that.

I’m curious why Bowman and Robinson think dribbling down the court and launching a 25 footer is an offense

This is my first game watching. The team seems to play more like a unit than they did last year, which is good. The defense is still bad, especially off the glass.

Reyes looks like he put a lot of work in this offseason. I hope he keeps at it.

He deserved a ton of credit he’s improved about 100% from last year

Mitchel and Hawkins are great additions. No thanks too worried about Robinson. Good night to have a bad game for him.

My eyes tell me they are improved regardless of the competition.

Mitchell is super intriguing.

They're not just winning, they're winning the way an ACC team should. A year or two ago these would be 5-10 point wins and an occasional loss.

Mitchell and Hawkins > Jeffers and Tava...And Reyes has improved his strength.

The team is better. No question about that.

So is it:

F-Robinson
F-Hawkins
C-Popovic
G-Chatman
G-Bowman

F-Mitchell
F-Kraljevic?
C-Reyes
G-
G-Wilson?

No other guards on the roster?

I wouldn't look at it as a strict first team/second team breakdown, especially in terms of minutes.

Based on what I've seen (just a regular h00ps fan here): In a perfect world you probably have Popovic/Reyes play 20' each at the 5 spot. Bowman (1) - Robinson (2) - Hawkins (4) are each going to play 32-36 minutes a night. Chatman can play the 2/3 and act as a secondary ballhandler on the floor when needed. Mitchell can play the 3/4 and his versatility looks awesome. I bet each play in the 25-30 minute range. That's your 7-man rotation.

As for the others, I don't see them contributing much this year. Kraljevic looks a little stiff - gonna be important for him to improve as Reyes has this past year. Wilson will need time - came in tonight, had a steal, and quickly turned the ball right back over. Baker's 3-pointer was great - his shot is silky smooth - but he's not going to be able to withstand ACC play until he puts on 30 lbs. You can see the potential, but he's rail-thin.

We're 3/8 of the way through the WTFable part of the schedule without a single WTF!

It's a fine time to be an Eagles fan

The way I see it BC won three games against three weak teams. In order to make the NCAA tournament BC will have to win some games against good teams, but they have to continue to beat the weak teams.

That’s the way I see it.

I like this team and think they're a big improvement over the last few years, but I don't think they're getting in the tourney. I'm guessing 5-6 conference wins, which I'm more than happy with considering what things have been like. Have no issue with being proved wrong though

Watched most of the game last night. How do folks watch? I have Apple TV so much better than trying to watch on a PC or phone.

How can someone who is supposed to be an All-ACC candidate go 1-14? Putrid?

Hawkins is now "Teddy Hawkins"? Is this right? I didn't get the memo. He looks really solid.

Mitchell looks solid too.

Reyes is improved. (Hard to be worse).

The did not look good in the first half, I was sure they were headed for a "L" but they turned it around.

Looking forward to the next week or so....especially Providence....

The second half is all I've seen of the team this year. I was very impressed, mostly because I can't remember the last time I watched a BC basketball team play better in the second half than they did the first.

Bowman obviously has the skills to be a gamebreaker. He's got top notch athleticism.

It's encouraging that Robinson can play such an awful game and we don't fold.

Hawkins gives us something that has been missing for years: an ability to fight on the inside.

We have some size with the two Euros in the frontcourt, and they seem to be a little bit stronger than what we've had in the past.

Steffon Mitchell is one of the best options off the bench we've had since Al, although he'll be starting soon I imagine. Reminds me a little bit of Jared Dudley, with a nose for the basket and an ability to stretch the floor and be clever with his play.

Reyes could become really valuable, he has a shot blocker's instincts and can put in some good minutes.

We're still a little bit thin, but this is quite obviously Christian's best team, and maybe as good as Donahue's first team. I have gotten my hopes up a little bit. Could be 19-20 wins and the bubble if we stay healthy and win a few games that we shouldn't

I appeared Baker was sub'ed in last night to play the 2 guard insomuch as we still have "positions" - which appear pretty interchangeable but for the ball in Bowman's hand 90% of the time. But at one point on the court we had Bowman, Baker, Mitchell, Hawkins and Reyes.

Hawkins, Mitchell, Kraljevic, Popovic and Reyes played together in various 3-of-the-5 configurations, with 2 of Chatman/Robinson/Bowman rotating, so while there really isn't a backup "guard" in the rotation (Wilson and Baker both didn't get in til very late - and Baker came in before Wilson), by switching between 3 guard/2 forward and 2 guard/3 forward formations is how they'll steal rest for Robinson and Bowman, at least early on.

Some of you need to slow down. They're improved, but they're no where close to being a bubble team.

by how many points would a bubble team have won our first 3 games?

Two years ago, they began the season with two blowouts and a double-digit win over Harvard and then won four more games the rest of the way.

Could a realistic goal be 15-16 regular season wins before the ACC tourney? If so, that's an NIT bid. Better than nothing, imo. :shrug

Not sure if anyone else noticed, but the Dec. 2 game is at Hartford in their on campus "arena". I was looking last night, and they still have some good seats available that are'nt all that expensive. Anyone in the CT area should check it out

We'll have a very good idea of how competitive these guys really are over next 2 weeks:

Rankings per Kenpom.com:
31 Texas Tech
32 Providence
33 Northwestern or 109 LaSalle
91 BC
101 Nebraska

I’m not sure how much you can tell from BC beating up 3 bad basketball teams.

Being a bubble team isn’t out of the question.

This is a keeper.

I hope you are correct but I am not believing anything until they start winning some ACC games with regularity.
