You're right, there are definitely circumstances that a team from the Big 10 ranked 21 in the preseason polls should expect to go to the wire and have to score the last 5 to win. Stay calm.

Good teams with track records from strong mid majors are favored from time to time over the dregs of the major conferences. This spread didn't register one iota on the shock scale when I saw it.

You are probably right though, a NU team that beat UConn probably shouldn't be favored against BC because of the conference sticker on the floor.

No, a 3 point underdog to Towson means that mouth-breathing heathens that moved the line from PICK to +3 think BC is terrible, of which there is plenty of recent evidence. There is nothing surprising about the line, which remains the point. Only you are trying infer that I was implying BC was good as a result of anything.

Towson is a good team coming off a game in which they proved it. BC is at home, otherwise the spread would be worse. Facts.

i'll quote my original post that says nothing more than the above. in this, i am pointing out that i think it is bad that we are 3 point underdogs to a team that plays in the colonial conference. i don't think it's a sign of program strength, perception or direction to have such an indicator reflected to the world.

in fact, i think it is a bad thing and i think it speaks volumes about our current coach and his abilities to both coach and recruit talent. maybe i'm on the ledge inappropriately, but after 0-18 last year i think that seeing an underdog to a lesser conference team does not give me much confidence at seeing something other than 0-36.

I will just drop this dime here, hopefully make you feel better. My source about 28's UCONN-gate disinformation campaign (that's what I'm calling it now, or UG-DIC for short) also told me there is no way Jimmy Mac gets canned early, either. He will stay out his contract through the extension at the end of the 19-20 season, regardless of how poorly things go over the next few years.

I know this sounds completely implausible and inflexible, but the people pulling the strings here going forward are apparently tired of looking bad for having to fire every FB and BB coach before his contract is up and paying people not to work, a problem going back since Dan Henning as they see it.
