With a guaranteed 2 Final Four teams, the ACC has just set a record for the largest tourney credit payout of $40m. That's about a $2.6m bonus for BC. Leahy's laughing all the way to the bank at the suggestion that BC has to spend money to make money from sports.

$2.6 million will go a long way toward covering all those scholarships and paying GT. But there probably won't be much left over.

Congrats Jay Wright. Some of the best career moves are the ones never made.

The gambling lesson of the Elite Eight is one that everyone who has observed 40 years of Virginia basketball history should have known--UVA will always choke at the moment of truth. Apparently, it is as self-evident as the truths Mr. Jefferson identified in the Declaration of Independence. They even have an acronym for it down here, in this town that loves acronyms--SOFH.*
