Tournament Day 1 - Mark Blaudschun contributed to this post

Postby DavidGordonsFoot on Mon Mar 14, 2016 1:10 pm

7 games are airing in prime time on the east coast on both Thursday and Friday. That seems like more than usual and contributes to the further degradation of this once great event.

seems to me that the olden days had the following schedule:

2 or 3 games at noon on thurs/fri
4 games between 2:30 and 3
2 or 3 games at 5 o'clock hour
4 games at 7-7:30
3 games at 9 - 9:30

so i don't think 7 games in primetime is all that unusual. if anything, it might be a +1 prime time from the olden days when bc used to participate in division 1 basketball
now in the street there is violence
and, and a lots of work to be done
no place to hang out our washing
and, and i can't blame all on the sun
good god we gonna rock down to electric avenue
and then we'll take it higher

You may be right. A lot of these memories are coated in malted hops and barley.

I took Friday off to imbibe and CBS decided to start things off with Syracuse, which is offensive to me and lovers of this tournament everywhere.

i don't remember much of the evening games because i was usually very actively watching the early games.

the nice thing about the advancement of technology and coverage of the event is that you aren't screwed on only being able to see syracuse. you can watch any of the other games that are on either from your own home of the comfort of your local sports/tranny bar

I filled out my brackets. Since I have watched 5 mins of basketball all year (and they were spread across two games and were the final minutes of BC dick-tripping away games against UNC and NC St.) I picked all the puppy dog teams to win.

I like Oklahoma and Michigan State in the final as well. Other Final Four teams being Villanova and Xavier. Michigan State wins it all. Izzo does his Final Four magic.

Anyone rooting for the Holy Cross upset of Kansas? Like that will ever happen.
Yes I am a BC fan. Proof of this is my dog's name is Baldwin.

Duke -10.5
Butler -4.5
Colorado +3
Iowa St -7.5

early.

Also have Xavier (33/1) and Oregon (19.5/1) to win it all.

As a reminder, I think i went 2-14 first day last year so fading is encouraged.

Butler's winning, but may not cover. UConn is winning outright. Duke and Iowa State will cover. These aren't the upsets.

I think it's going to be a very chalky year. The only sleepers I have are Cincinatti and Purdue in the Elite 8, and those aren't even double-digit seeds.

I only see one 1 seed in the final four. Got a 4 and 2 2s.

I haven't seen them play all year. Shit's just guesswork outside of the top 30 and ACC
