This has become a total embarrassment. OK, nobody expected us to be truly competitive with the top echelon of the ACC, but losing the first three games by an average of 22+ points is just unacceptable. The offense was non existent - dribble and pass with no penetration until the shot clock demands a pathetic three-point attempt. An octogenarian on Viagra could get more penetration than was shown last night. It's difficult to imagine a competitive performance against any ACC team this year, never mind pulling off an upset victory. I was shocked by some of our early losses, but was willing to "wait and see". Well I've waited and seen and am ready to pluck my eyes out. :bag

I have to admit that I've essentially quit on this team. I made the effort to watch a few of the early games on ESPN ménage-a-3, but didn't luck watching Carter chuck up a bunch of shits in his audition for macaibi tel-aviv.

I'm going to IB the rest of the games and will be shocked if we win more than 2 acc games. The way I see it, the only hope is that Ty Graves is a superlative talent and can take on a large role as play maker and scorer next season or the year after.

"more competitive than it is" - dude, it has lost each ACC game by an average of OVER 20 points per game. i thought the team would be bad but this is a historic level of losing. whether anyone thought this team would be this bad is irrelevant, the team IS this bad and Christian's inability to field even a remotely competitive squad should be enough to cost him. the only reason not to fire him is to save money since we're still paying The Whistler.

For right now we have to remain patient and take whatever silver linings come our way. The kids battled hard to get back in the game in the second half. They scored more points in the first three minutes of the second half than they did in the first half. While Carter is now struggling more than ever and being keyed on by very good defensive teams hasn't helped, nor has his ball handling mistakes.

That said, SBT has stepped up since Jerome Robinson broke his wrist---that's a huge plus. Hicks returned from his concussion and made some good hustle plays and a couple of nice threes. Turner is asserting himself more---which is good itself. Mesnieks is still struggling overall, but he made a three today with near perfect form. Owens played hard on both ends and at times made some plus plays. Milon might have gotten robbed of a sweet corner three if Coach was right that he didn't move his pivot foot. He hit another three later. He's a work in progress in other areas, i.e. ball handling and defense.

Clifford played hard and with little more bounce---he still has trouble finishing underneath and catching the ball on quick passes---but he did hit a couple of nice 12 footers and he even beat his man off a pump fake and got a left handed finger roll. Diallo was active and aggressive---got called for a goal-tending, but that sometimes gives the other team something to think about in the paint, which BC has lacked for a long time.

What the team really needs to do is get to the foul line---it's getting kind of ridiculous---just when they were cutting the lead to single digits they bricked two one-and-ones (Turner, Clifford)---and in total, what did they get, was it 4 FTs? What they needs to do is when they do penetrate instead of the rest of the team hanging on the three point line they need to cut into the lane for dish passes---and they need to be more willing to absorb contact, get some hand time and then be strong enough to get the ball over the rim.

If Coach C can recruit a couple of board bangers---there is some promise in this freshman class---he has them playing hard and not quitting which with this daunting schedule says something very positive about him as a coach. With Ty Graves coming in to run the point, this team is going to be one of the more athletic teams we've had in a while. Let's give Coach and the players the time to grow.

I will say this---the opposing coaches like Coach K, Roy, Boeheim and Pitino were getting very frustrated with their players at times versus BC. That says something.

You have unbelievably low expectations of losing by 25 every night is considered a decent effort. I watched Louisville have 4 consecutive dunks to end the game...

I might agree with you that there is some talent, but this year has been a complete disaster no matter how you want to look at it. This is a massive failure for the coaching staff. If we were losing games by 5-10 points I'd feel differently but these games are a complete joke

i'm not sure i understand where you come out on all of this. you don't like Jimbo and think he shouldn't be playing Clifford and Eli as much (or at least featuring them as much). you are aware of the fact that the talent level is woeful. but because you were aware of this coming into the season you expected things to be this bad - like going winless in the ACC and not even being close to maybe having a shot at winning ONE CONFERENCE GAME with 5 minutes to play in any game? i don't really follow.
