Harvard Game: Early Season Identity

Postby EagleManiac66 on Sun Nov 22, 2015 7:29 am

I know that this early in the season, it's hard to claim that any one game has the potential to define the season. However, I believe that today's game against Harvard stands out as a distinct possibility. While our first two games were blow-outs, the poor shooting from the free throw line and the lack of consistent aggressiveness in the lane could be a downfall for the next few games after today. We need a solid performance to get the Harvard monkey off our backs. Go :screamyeagle :screamyeagle :screamyeagle "s

If BC loses, will Hansen provide us with his glorious second place commentary?

Maxx, the game is on ESPNU at 12:30pm. Do you want to come over today and watch the game? I have Orange Fanta, Funnyons, chocolate ice cream, and onion dip.

We haven't had depth like this in a while. Despite off nights from both Carter and Robinson, the Eagles pulled through with huge contributions from the bench.

Clifford played great defense today. Very good win on a night when Carter and Robinson were off.

Harvard isn't what they were the last few years, but that's still a nice win for BC.

The most encouraging thing right now is that they actually LOOK like an ACC caliber team from a size, speed and athleticism standpoint. They're still going to get drilled on a nightly basis in the early part of the ACC schedule, but there's promise at least.
Is this the 5 o'clock free crack giveaway?

Big thing is the two shooters. Going to spread the floor for Carter and Robinson

A tale of two halves! Good win. Great finish. While I don't think that we can be competitive with Michigan State, the Penn State game is another matter. Let's build from here. Go :screamyeagle :screamyeagle :screamyeagle 's

Best win of the JC era. Clifford was the MVP couldn't have done it without his defense.

This team could make the NIT, they didn't play well today and still won by double-digits.

I was dead wrong on JC thank goodness.

We haven't started 3-0 since 08-09. Or rather when Reggie Jackson was a freshman and Tyrese Rice was a SR.

Milon is 3-3 from inside the arc, 7-11 from outside the arc, 2-2 from the line. Consider me impressed.

This is the biggest difference. Roster full of ACC athletes.

-Milon has great touch.

-BC doesn't win this game without Clifford. Great effort on the defensive end. Reyes could not hang defensively against Edosomwan and neither could Diallo without fouling.

-At times, Eli Carter goes into ball hog mode and plays out of control. He's better than Matt Humphrey and Aaron Brown, but has similar traits.

Agree on all three, but in all fairness there are times when Carter has to do that. Freshman largely defer and shoot off of Carter's set ups. He made all of Euro's wide open threes. That said, I agree he doesn't always make the best choices.

Nice to see JC handles his kids better than Asspazio. Diallo drives him nuts but he uses it as a teaching moment. Cautiously optimistic this guy knows what he is doing.
