2015-16 Win-Loss Prediction Thread

Season is less than a month away. Let's make some predictions.

For clarification: Assuming I understand this bracket correctly: the first Wooden Legacy game is Michigan State. After we lose that game, it is Boise St or UC Irvine. 3rd game will be a team from the other side of the bracket: Evansville, Providence, Santa Clara, or Arizona. Lots of old friends in that tourney field. So we could theoretically play Providence twice in 10 days, I think?

Here's the schedule. Remember there is at minimum 1 ACC tournament game at the end of the season as well.

14-Nov St. Fran.-NY
19-Nov CCSU
22-Nov Harvard
26-Nov vs. Michigan St. (Wooden Legacy 1)
27-Nov Wooden Legacy 2
29 Nov Wooden Legacy 3

2-Dec Penn St.
6-Dec UMass Lowell
9-Dec @Providence
13-Dec Maine
19-Dec Delaware
30-Dec New Hamp.

2-Jan Duke
7-Jan Notre Dame
13-Jan @Syracuse
16-Jan @Pittsburgh
20-Jan Miami (Fla.)
23-Jan @Notre Dame
26-Jan Florida St.
30-Jan @N. Carolina

3-Feb @Virginia
6-Feb @Louisville
9-Feb N. Carolina
14-Feb Syracuse
17-Feb @Clemson
21-Feb @Wake Forest
23-Feb Va. Tech
27-Feb Georgia Tech

2-Mar @NC State
5-Mar Clemson

My prediction:

9 - 22
2-16 ACC. Bow out in the first round of the ACC tournament.
Kind of low expectations :shrug

i think you should add a category for "number of roonie posts that claim we never should have fired skinner and deserve what we have"

in my estimation, you get 2 posts from roonie for every win and 7 for every loss. each post must start as it's own thread to count.

i'm going to factor this into my season prediction when i get around to forming an opinion on something

Non W/L predictions are also encouraged. In addition to the above, after how many losses will Eepstein declare the freshmen are non-ACC players? How many dunks will "Mr. Can't Dunk" Antonio Vrankovic have against us when we play Duke? For how long will Roonie disappear if we beat Cooley again this year? How many Providence players will mysteriously get kicked off the team or transfer? How many points will Lonnie Jackson score against his old team? Which will be the next ACC program to turn out to have committed massive recruiting violations (smart money says it's not BC!)? Lots of fun to be had.

I have the OVER on Vrankovic dunks 0.5 times against us, and DURING THE WOODEN TOURNAMENT for Eepstein declares the freshmen are non-ACC players.

I actually think epstein cautiously likes most of the players on the team now.

11-20
3-15/0-1 in acct

155 dumb roonie threads that i merge into "compilation of craptacular roonie posts"

eepstein's non-acc player accusation will make it's first appearance vs harvard - but as teddy suggests it will be half-hearted and out of frustration

i don't care about the dunks one

roonie will not disappear because we will lose to providence

2 providence players will either not make the opener or be dismissed/fail out/choose to leave the team

lonnie will score 9

i'm split between unc or the cuse as the next recruiting scandal... and i'll go with carolina since carolina and cuse were already busted for cheating (although maybe not specific to recruiting) i will update my guess to uva with the domers as a close second

Maybe I should have said cheating rather than recruiting scandal. In my head UNC, Cuse, and Louisville were the ones in the "already caught" category. I think the favorites here are NC State and Florida State, but there are a number of legitimate choices.

Also, if anyone's w/l total is equal to 30 it means you didn't make an ACC tournament prediction.

Yeah but it's going to take 50 games for them to start clicking.

13-17 (6-12).

Lose one or two we shouldn't in beginning of year, win one or two we shouldn't at the end.

I like that we re going with players who were recruited by other ACC schools instead of America East schools.

Having said that, we're still going to have 0 depth and be forced to play Clifford and Owens. People won't mind watching this team but they're going to flat out suck.

Where are some of you getting 6 ACC wins from that schedule? That beginning of the schedule is murderers row!

I would predict 6-6 out of conference, 2-16 in ACC play then one and done in the ACC tourney. 8-23 overall.

That said, it's very hard to predict anything with this team because for them to win any ACC games their best players will all have to be the Freshmen aside from the Florida transfer.

I don't expect them to win ACC games on the front end of the schedule. JC had the team playing hard all year last year. If he does that with this young team and a veteran PG, I think they start to gel right as the schedule softens up at the end.

Where'd you get 31 games from? Did Bates scheduled Howard at the last minute?

I am optimistic in how they handle the non-conference

9-3 ooc
4-14 ACC
1-1 ACC Tourney

7 - 5 OCC -glad Bates/Christian didn't let the video coordinator set up the non-conference schedule
3 - 15 ACC -how teams realistically should BC be competitive with in conference...3 or 4? Only playing Wake and VT once each doesn't help.
0-1 ACC Tourney - Will play a competitive first day game...maybe even OT.

11-21 (2-16)

They should name that opening day of the ACCT after BC, since we always seem to win that game. I'm assuming it's because playing in front of 11 people for a 10pm EST tip is so familiar.

BC will make a real run at 0-18 in the league, but that last couple of weeks is very forgiving. They'll get one or two of those, oust someone on day 1 of the ACCT and get shithoused in the noon game on day 2 by a team with a pulse.

Bonus Prediction: Christian finishes 2nd on four more BABC kids and it will be touted as a victory on TOS & BCI.

I'm swapping another ACC win for one less OOC win, but I think you have this right about right. This team will look much better at the end, when they reach the soft part of the conference schedule. If Christian can keep their heads up and keep them playing hard, this will be a tough team in February.

Of course a lot of this depends on Carter.

BC would also be 7-0 in football by Atl's predictions. Blindly picking BC to win every game takes a lot of insight.

Your blog is otherwise awesome.

He picks them to win each week. He also picked them to go 7-5 overall.

The not much talked about Eli Carter is being underrated. He'll be the best player in a BC uniform. So long as the team stays healthy, BC wins 15 games this season.

Over 15 = excelling
13-14 = disappointment
Less than 13 = #firechristian

That's the way I see it.

^^ Some bad OOC losses in there prevent that from being a pretty solid season. If they get to 6 in the ACC, you have to be happy, even if they only go 6-6 OOC, which would suck.
