agreed. shortening the shot clock turns this into a game of H.O.R.S.E. let them play basketball and allow them enough time to perform basketball moves.
if you instant gratification fucking millenials want something different, go watch a dunk contest on high speed
Every team in the NBA with a competent coach runs more sets in 24 seconds than any college team will run in 35. Force the players/coaches to speed it up a bit and they will adapt.
going with "quality of basketball played in the nba" is not going to get you any support here.
is dribbling still required in the nba or has it turned into more of a rugby with baskets?
The NBA is garbage and the NCAA is doing what it can to mimic that dumpster fire of professional sports. Make them stay 3. As for the "oh noes top kids already on the take will play professionally in China!!!!"... Good. Fuck'em. I'd rather watch the comedy of them being malcontents on the bench in some foreign land than have them cashing booster checks while mumbling through interviews about the tough "General Studies" major they are studying.
As for the 1-and-dones bringing competitive balance... if there is validity to the argument it is because it devalues the entire product such that Don and Cornell can pop a Sweet 16 run once every other decade with a senior-laden squad.
