BC vs UMass at the TD Garden

Postby eepstein0 on Mon Nov 03, 2014 8:25 pm

Just FYI, if you were planning on going to this even don't. It's expensive, it's mobbed with angry UMass fans and the Garden makes it a total UMass home game with their use of the Jumbotron. Save yourself the $50 or whatever and watch it on TV.

BC should've refused to participate in this even after what I had to endure last year. The game itself last year was a total embarrassment to the basketball program.

HEY, EEP,

Where is your faith in our emerging giant of a program?

Sorry that your feelings were hurt at last year's event.

Maybe you should demand an apology from UMass.

Tsk tsk!
BC once attracted stars like Abrams, Adams, Agbai, Austin, Bagley, Barros, Bell, Curley, Driscoll, Dudley, Eisley, Evans, Huckaby, Jackson, McCready, Murphy, O'Brien, Rice, Smith, Williams, et al.

Those days are gone.

And who is responsible for that?

I will be there and try to avoid interactions with UMass fans. I think BC could be competitive and pull out the victory.

It also gets a tiny crowd too, so it's not a fun atmosphere in that regard either. Last year was brutal

Good luck. There were about 50 BC fans last year and 5,000 UMass fans.

i have no idea why they're trying to make this a thing.

why don't we worry about filling our own arena before trying to fill an off campus arena that's >2x the capacity.

add to it a football sunday? disaster

then i would go just to dump a beer on roonie's head. it's much more satisfying to dump beer than it is to dump undersyruped soda.

i would say "this is from jim o'brien and schoonie penn. they would both like you to stop using them as examples in your retarded crusades."

i would later throw the end of the box of popcorn on him (with all the popcorn dust and husks) so it would stick to his stale beer smelling moisture and say "this is for rooting for bc to lose, dingleberry"

at that point, i would likely be escorted out

So, the isolationist movement thrives among Eagle fans.

Their credo: Don't attend a road game: the opposition may have the nerve to cheer for THEIR team.

Perish THAT thought!

Not saying don't go, not saying it's because there were more UMass fans there. It was just a boring atmosphere last year and I doubt there is much that's changed to make it any better this year.

TRE- real talk though, should I ditch the signature picture? I'm new to this whole gig here and don't know if others find it annoying.

i've had sigs blocked for years, every since someone with no pride and no space lost a bet and had to put a gif of a jacking ginger as his signature

not at all... i like the signature and think it fits the current nerditorium perfectly. it was just funny to me that you had a statement saying that a basketball game was boring followed by a picture of a group of kids that intimated that they were bored by bc athletics - and the picture was meant to mock them.

the folks that haven't blocked signatures here don't seem to mind that sort of thing as long as there are no pictures of scantily dressed ladies or men. hansen, as always, is the exception to this rule... but he also wants a doctor to take a picture so he can look at you from inside as well

Fair play on that- you caught me red-handed.

Normally I would consider myself the exception, not the norm (re- apathy for BC sports, namely basketball)...I guess I just really didn't enjoy the 2013 game at TD! (Aside- On the other hand, I also made the trip down to RI for the BC-PC game last year and had a blast, despite the loss. The Dunkin Donuts center was a great venue for what they have going and it was a packed house with lots of energy. Would definitely go back for the next game there)

1) I thought the bet was between no space and Chris Wang, not the prideless one.
b) The universal disgust caused by that GIF made the whole stunt very funny. Sorry I'm not sorry. Sorry.
