The next positive thing you post about BC sports will be your first. The board geniuses wanted Diaco, Doeren or Clawson as head football coach. Give me Addazio and his coordinators over all of them. Great hire by Bates.

As for basketball, I wasn't thrilled with the Christian hire, but I wasn't totally psyched about Addazio either. I'm not going to cry because we lost a few recruits. There are three guys coming in next year who had decent offers and he got Diallo this year. Let's see how he does with the actual coaching part of the job. I'm not on or off any train, but willing to see how the team plays over the next year or two.

Was never on the train to begin with. Was anybody? No experience at big basketball programs, poor recruiter, mediocre stints at mediocre schools.

I supported the Addazio hire pretty much from the start. I also supported the Donahue hire (though that obviously didn't work out).

Dazoo was a disappointing hire due to him being an old name that was passed over already... and no longer up-and-coming (fired at UF and struggling at Temple). But, we knew he could recruit.

Christian supposedly can coach... so him fucking up in recruiting isn't much of a surprise.

My thing is that Christian was 100% Bates' pick. Dazoo was not. Makes me think that if Bates was left to his own devices we would have had Aaron Kromer coaching the football team.

I am pretty sure he can coach. He has the all time winning percentage in the MAC at over 70%. I saw his Kent State teams at Conte when he narrowly lost to Smith and Dudley in the last minute one year and played a close game I believe two years later. His teams played hard. If the reports about practice are true and they are playing with some intensity and actually playing defense, good things may yet happen.
