ANOTHER Hard Question

Postby MaroonNGold on Wed Nov 05, 2014 5:53 pm

By the end of 2014, who will have more losses:

A. BC Hoops

B Barack Hussein Obama
BC once attracted stars like Abrams, Adams, Agbai, Austin, Bagley, Barros, Bell, Curley, Driscoll, Dudley, Eisley, Evans, Huckaby, Jackson, McCready, Murphy, O'Brien, Rice, Smith, Williams, et al.

Those days are gone.

And who is responsible for that?

I had to do a password reset because i haven't posted in forever (although i read the board weekly) ... but I HAD to do it to chime in to say that this MaroonNGold character would be remarkably annoying if he wasn't so lame. I guess it would be too much to hope he just goes away, such a tired and stupid act.

Seconded. I find the whole thing amusing, doesn't bother me anymore that the original :81 did.

Unlike the pessimists who dominate this board, how could anyone NOT be upbeat about the state of Eagle hoopdom?

Look at all the positive steps taken since 2010:

1. We got rid of a coach whose record indicated that he could win and be recognized at the national level for his achievement. Who needs that?

2. In his stead, we hired a coach who brought Ivy League refinement to our program. Who could do without that?

3. Dismissed after four inspiring years, he was replaced by a coach from mid America - a healthy influence, indeed , in any setting.

4. Now we recruit players who have experienced many colleges in previous stops. Up geographical diversity!

5. We have made Conte more fan friendly, by assuring that most patrons have rows (sometimes even sections) to themselves.

6. Enhancing our institutional stress on academics, we have produced teams in no danger of invitation to those distracting post-season tournaments.

WHO COULD NOT SALUTE ALL THOSE IMPROVEMENTS?

Come on,take the bait! BC=Obama, Obama won New Hampshire Tuesday, therefore BC will beat UNH. Get angry about something other than Steve Donahue. What'd he do, whistle at you while you walked past him one day?

What this means

The stirring 39 point win over AIC portends an undefeated season, to be sure!

You know, we already have a thread about this game, we have a thread about season predictions, and we have another thread specifically dedicated to your ramblings. This could have fit in pretty well in any of those...

We don't have a thread about cookie recipes.

Ingredients

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed light-brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups (about 12 ounces) semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips

Directions
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, combine the butter with both sugars; beat on medium speed until light and fluffy. Reduce speed to low; add the salt, vanilla, and eggs. Beat until well mixed, about 1 minute. Add flour mixture; mix until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  • Drop heaping tablespoon-size balls of dough about 2 inches apart on baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake until cookies are golden around the edges, but still soft in the center, 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from oven, and let cool on baking sheet 1 to 2 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack, and let cool completely. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature up to 1 week.

During a visit to a mental asylum, a visitor asked the Director what the criteria is that defines if a patient should be institutionalized.

"Well," said the Director, "we fill up a bathtub. Then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup, and a bucket to the patient and ask the patient to empty the bathtub."

Okay, here's your test:
1. Would you use the spoon?
2. Would you use the teacup?
3. Would you use the bucket?
