At Duke, KY and KS, according to solid word on the college hoops street.

Instead, the report continues, Coaches K, Cal and Self, long known for their advance planning acuity, will have their troops assembled at 5:OO pm Eastern to watch ESPN 2 and thus prepare for their likely opponent in the NCAA title game next spring.

Wise men, they.
BC once attracted stars like Abrams, Adams, Agbai, Austin, Bagley, Barros, Bell, Curley, Driscoll, Dudley, Eisley, Evans, Huckaby, Jackson, McCready, Murphy, O'Brien, Rice, Smith, Williams, et al.

Those days are gone.

And who is responsible for that?

why not?

too much work to move his daily craptacular posts to another forum. it's all about the maroon tools that i've been provided to work with - they're right up there with "sharpened rock"

--------------------------------------

Though strolls around campus may not show signs that BC now provides a truncated education to some, a visit to EO yields all the evidence one needs of that unpalatable reality.

Alma mater once taught its students to respectfully engage with and substantively debate those espousing ideas of all stripes.

Now, however, EO shows that appears to be passe.

Rather, EO seemingly welcomes all contact that "fits with its views" but treats others differently: i.e., either with vulgarity or with censorship by isolation.

Sad that the ability to joust with substance has evaded those poor souls.

Guess a trip over to Admissions is necessary to see about upping our obviously insufficient standards.

And by the bye: if Tobac is the "manager" of EO and is looking to up his pay and status, he may want to Amtrak down to NYC. Seems that Brian Williams and the folks at NBC would be a good fit for those with experience in shelving positions with which they disagree.

Not to worry, though: in a few short hours the nation will see the hoops steamroller which has been forged at Conte.

Do you think you're not getting respectful, engaging, substantive debate because of what you say? Or do you think it might not be what you say, but the manner in which you say it?

okay, then continue starting a new thread every time the same thought pops into your head and maybe the next time you do that, it will be different and you'll get the substantive debate you desperately want.

Our unique recruiting advantage

Postby MaroonNGold on Fri Nov 21, 2014 2:45 pm

Since the brilliant dismantling of our program in 2010 by the twin six shooters, BC has a recruiting advantage that our peer schools lack.

We - and only we - can assure every recruit that he won't be inconvenienced by the hurtful distractions of post-season play.

Nope - once the final whistle sounds, the lad can head straight for Bapst.

Looking forward to Rooney's banishment.

If you miss him, he posts on the Boston.com site as "Longputter".

He regularly posts such things as no school fires more coaches than Boston College and every problem with the school's athletic performance is the result of Fr. Leahy.

Roonie being banned is such bullshit. I'm glad the country is entering their 2nd week of protests over the shoot-first-ask-questions-later board police.

Here's a solution

Postby MaroonNGold on Fri Jun 19, 2015 6:27 am

Move home games to Power Gym.

That way, no TV cameras can catch our absent fans.

No one except friends and relatives will see the debacle we have become.

Will ease our transition to a Club level program which, in turn, will facilitate our dropping men's hoops entirely.

Think of it this way:

Were it not for the Boston TV market, the ACC long ago would have expelled us and brought in UConn.

Well, maybe someone can reconcile the common claim that BC has superior admission standards with this REALITY

Year 1:

We admit a player who began at Temple, moved to Mississippi State, and then came here.

Year 2:

We admit a player who began at Rutgers, moved to Florida, and then came here.

If any other school followed that pattern, the ridicule from the self-deluding snobs would be heard the world over.
