A tribute long overdue

Postby MaroonNGold on Wed Jan 01, 2014 6:30 pm

As the SF Giants, Chicago Bulls and the St. Louis Cardinals have done outside their venues, it is time to erect dual statues outside Conte of GDF and the chap who hired him, in recognition of what they have done TO the state of hoops at alma mater.

Since the school never funds these things, the fair approach , of course, is to assess a $100 surcharge on each ticket sold for any BC event, and a $500 Special assessment on each admission application to pay this freight.
BC once attracted stars like Abrams, Adams, Agbai, Austin, Bagley, Barros, Bell, Curley, Driscoll, Dudley, Eisley, Evans, Huckaby, Jackson, McCready, Murphy, O'Brien, Rice, Smith, Williams, et al.

Those days are gone.

And who is responsible for that?

Talked to a few of the players after the game last night and they felt BC is about to go on a huge run. Ryan Anderson is the real deal, sorry that I am not sorry to be the one to break that news to you all. Clifford will be back sooner than later. SUCK IT HATERS! :ace

Get a Grip

Postby MaroonNGold on Mon Jan 06, 2014 8:37 pm

On reality.

All this fretting bout who coaches hoops here is insignificant.

To see people with REAL problems, consider:

The country is saddled with the result of the last 2 presidential elections.

And look at who the poor Commonwealth has in the Senate.

So BC is racist b/c it fired a black coach who had checked out for a year and (arguably) therefore had reason to be dismissed. What does this make you, criticizing the popularly elected leader of the country, who is also black?

Another sure, if subtle, sign of our decline

Postby MaroonNGold on Fri Jan 10, 2014 11:51 am

Where the male student managers under Coach Skinner and predecessors dressed in smart suits and the women managers sported comparable female attire, now our managers are outfitted like locker room attendants.

When will this downward spiral end?

what really grinds my gears is that bc is the only team to see this sort of "casual friday" look in both the coaches and the managers.

How Christian got the job

Postby MaroonNGold on Sat Apr 05, 2014 12:51 pm

Won't reveal my source, but JC aced his interview with a master plan.

The immediate part is his revised starting lineup and the innovative summer prep program.

Send Clifford to Lourdes all summer, so he can heal those knees and come back as the center he once was.

Dispatch Anderson to Vail, to undergo summer-long hypnosis, so he can regain good karma.

The other forward, Cain Carney, will be in NY all summer, getting beat up in the Rucker League, so he won't cry when he faces the ACC big boys next season.

Peripiglia will stay on campus, studying the physics of the point guard position.

Caudill will be home in CA, doing nothing but running the San Gabriel Mountains, so he can return 65 pounds less and take over as shooting guard.

As for the bench, if Hanlon stays, his summer will be spent in Butte, away from distractions, in a training regimen consisting solely of taking late-game foul shots.

Rahon will be encouraged to transfer to Gonzaga - or Georgetown.

Owens will work on choosing a new uniform number, since zero conveys a lack of self confidence.

Hicks will be asked to submit to analysis aimed at discovering why he chose to enroll here.

My source also reports that at the end of this inspirational presentation, Leahy jumped up and yelled
"You da man!"

All kidding aside, Christian must have done/said something pretty impressive in the interview process.

I just hope it wasn't calling BC a dream job and how he never wants to look for another job after this.

Talon,

How about this?

At that point in the process, who was his competition?

BC was DESPERATE to find ANYONE.

THAT is how far we have fallen, my friend.

And for this guy to put himself in the same league with Dr. Tom Davis, Jimmy O'Brien and Al Skinner shows that he is either delusional or arrogant.

If it's the latter, he'll get along just fine with the top dog out there.

We know Mike Hopkins interviewed. We don't know if he was offered.
Same with Mark Schmidt.

I find it hard to believe that Schmidt was offered the job and said no. I don't know if the same can be said about Hopkins, but I tend to lean towards him not being offered either.

Hopkins or Schmidt would have been better hires on a PR side (Hopkins being a successful assistant at a top program and Schmidt being an alum). If Christian was able to do and say the right things to jump ahead of them, that should count for something.

What he said that was pretty impressive to BC was, "Yes, I'll take the job." Only one who would.
