Good lord, it's actually sad to look at the recruits URI has been pulling under Hurley and Murphy in compared to BC.

Depressing really.

I always heard great things about Murphy (like he was Skinner's best assistant after Coen and Cooley left). I also heard he was a genuinely good guy. I have no idea how he does in recruiting (Sanders and Southern were very unique situations). But he seems to have done decent at URI.

Btw, I always thought Bates should have considered Danny Hurley for the BC job. I think he's going to eventually make his way to a Big 5 conference.

In looking at the staff, I think it is pretty strong. The Pollack is probably the most questionable, but every coach needs to have at least one assistant who knows the system. From that perspective, Wuj is probably better than most tagalongs. Spinelli is an ideal hire and Murphy is a strong hire (and adds a touch of familiarity). This leaves DBO. I would like to see Waheed land it (to give a little continuity). If he doesn't want it, I would like to see it go to a young, minority... preferably a former player (and ideally a BC alum).

The assistant he brought from Ohio would have been the best assistant under the last staff.

Agreed with HJS on the DBO.

We got lit up by Hurley, Rhodes Jalil Roberts and Roshawn McLeod once - while he didn't seem like the sharpest knife in the drawer, his career path has been pretty solid.

Earth to y'all:

BC basketball is DEAD.

And this administration has NO concern about you or interest in what you think.

But you fools will continue your gullible ways, buying DBS and hoping for improvement.

Whoever continues to run this account, it's not funny anymore. Give it a rest.

Based on the fact that he's always bashing Leahy, my guess is it's Father Monan running it.

@BillKoch25: Murphy will sign multi-year deal with Boston College for an annual salary in the $250K range, per source with knowledge of the negotiations.

it's the ol' Al Skinner regimen. it's a departure from our recent strategy of paying very little for both the head coach and the assistants.

Was Joe Jones a bad assistant coach?

He was good while he was here. Backfilling to make his replacement was the mistake.

That is my point. Mrs. S is trying to debdown this potential hire which looks decent on paper. Would really like it if someone like Danya or another BC alum gets a call to be an assistant. It might be one of those things that makes too much sense because it would actually appease the fanbase rather than keep loading up on former BU players.

My balls still hurt from getting kicked in the junk last week with Jimminy Christmas getting hired. When the pain goes away, I'll get excited about assistant coaches.

Speaking of whick, Wisconsin's big whit dork just took a nice knee to his junk.

A Spinelli from Leominster, mild facial resemblance, is there a connection?

I'll give Christian Credit - Good first move ... and murder?

What has Stan Heath done since he arrived here?

The defense still blows and he's responsible for 0 recruits
