JC does deserve a ton of credit if he brings in Spinelli. Like Joe Jones before, getting proven recruiters on staff is the best way to assure job security at BC.
As for Owens... is that official or were they going to keep denying his release until they got a head coach in place (and had the chance to talk to him)?
I think they did something similar for transfers when Groce left for Illinois, did not release until Christian was on board.
It also sounds like Owens is really serious about not going to Ohio - that he's willing to sit the year and transfer if he has to. Probably not the end of the story just yet.
