commavegarage {l Wrote}:saying bc is not a good job is crazy.

there are over 330 division 1 college basketball jobs, and we are one of 16 slots in the premier conference in the country.

we are at worst a top 50 job, which would put us in the top 15% of coaching jobs.

the question isn't is the job a good one, its is this job an elite one (top 20)

I see that a lot. Do you folks really think the ACC is the best conference?

I don't think it is remotely debateable anymore with Louisville, Pitt, ND and Cuse joining.

it will be better with Louisville, but this past season , it wasn't even close to being the best.

no question, but 1 of the players he's added got tossed from maryland while in summer school trying to get academically qualified for assaulting a cop and is being stashed at some bs prep school while trying to learn how to read

i didn't realize that there was a program for assaulting cops OR that certain schools offered classes to get a student academically qualified for said program

With Ben Howland taking the Miss State job and Fran McCaffrey, Jay Wright, Gregg Marshall, Ed Cooley, Archie Miller etc. all making the Big Dance, I was wondering... are there any names linked to our search that we are can say "damn... good thing we "missed out" on him"???

This isn't to say that folks shouldn't be joining NotoriousOrange's "great hire" bandwagon with regard to Christian. More just curious if there was someone we wanted last year who we would never have interest in now (hypothetically if Don got his well-deserved 5th year). Perhaps, with everything that has happened with Cuse, Mike Hopkins could be on that list.

Didn't some folks mention Rick Barnes in the space last year? He quickly got scooped up by Tenn.

BTW... will be interesting to see what fellow 95er does at VCU. Promote from within? Go outside the program? Or, take the Bon Jovi "Who Says You Can't Go Home" route and re-hires either Jeff Capel or Anthony Grant?

So... after reading TRE's post explaining why Rick Brunson never transferred to BC, I wondered what Dave Leitao was up to (as he has been a successful coach in the past). He apparently was an assistant on Frank Haith's Tulsa squad. I say was because he was just hired/re-hired to be the head coach again at Tulsa. The Ville's hiring of Petrino has apparently opened the door to a number of reunion tours.

Rick Barnes is horrifically bad at coaching. Amaker would have been a better choice for BC

VCU hired former Smart assistant (who left for 1 year at Chattanooga), Willie Wade.
