He’s down playing in FL at a small JUCO type deal.

Can’t see BC getting involved though.

Look at all of those players from last year that we "missed out" on. Mark Smith to Ill, Turner-Morris to Umass, Malik Ondigo to TTU and Sandro to SHU... none of them really tore it up this season. I could see each following Smith's lead.

Smith is a potential as a transfer but it’ll depend on the JRob deal.

So nobody else probably remembers this but several of you threw a fit when we were recruiting the guy who is now WKU's best player. In retrospect a guy who goes for 15 and 10 in Conference USA probably was, in fact, an ACC player.

Some GOLDEN comments in this same few pages of the thread about Matt Farrell

He also had offers from Auburn and Providence.

I IB'ed Ryan Taylor's entire career, but he averaged 1.1 assists and 2.3 turnovers as a guard, so... not going to be the guy to take the ball out of Ky's hands for those of you who hate him at the point. He's roughly the same size as JRob, so he'd be more or less filling that role

I'm a little confused also.

If so the kid had offers from Michigan St, Ohio St and Duke/Kentucky were close.

He fits the guard mold they like (6'4").

Smith is transferring from Illinois after his first year there (was kind of a disappointment given the level of his recruiting). Evidently we're trying to get back in on him...

A few people on twitter have said that Smith "received an offer" from BC. I read somewhere that BC was doing an in-home with him this weekend and I believe Bill Wuczynksi was the lead recruiter for him when he was originally being recruited and committed to Illinois.

Believe Creighton is also scheduled to visit and Tom Crean apparently also has a strong relationship with Smith so Georgia can be considered a potential threat.

New offer out today to Jay Heath from the DC area. 2019 combo guard with offers from K-State and URI.

JC is visiting Joe Girard today.

Semi OT because he's not coming here, but Nat Dixon is shopping around for a grad transfer spot. Was at Tennessee-Chattanooga after his time with BCFB and is visiting Memphis/Penny Hardaway this weekend and has also mentioned interest from Wake, Xavier, Creighton, Nevada, St. Bon and Saint Louis.

Another reason to hold off renewing my annual contribution.

Obviously the extension was motivated by concern about recruitment. But that excuse can be used to justify mediocrity ad infinitum. If Robinson leaves, and possibly Bowman, and we end up with, at best, something like this past season, then the program stands condemned for the spottiness of past recruitment. A program has to have adequate replacements in train. If the past season had been an outstanding success, which it wasn't (except by contorted comparison to recent disasters), and we ended up taking only a step back next season because of departures, then that would reflect the adequacy of recruitment overall. But a season like the last one was many steps below outstanding. The relevant standard should not be a step above dismal. Look at Villanova!

I think Christian is a very decent man. I wish him and the team the best. But, after five years, the record has not justified another extension.

They either have to fire him or extend him, having a lame duck coach is entirely self-defeating. They're not firing him so there's your extension.

Unrelatedly, imagine the feeling a hypothetical poster might have if he had entered into a hypothetical bet in which he had wagered our head coach would get fired this summer.

That guy would probably feel like a real loser!

His contract was already running through 2020 so hardly a lame duck. Jarmond has revealed himself as looking to be gone from here in the next two or three years. :ace

Contract up in 2020 = end of the class of 2019's freshman year

2019 is the class they're trying to recruit this summer
