Interestingly at least to me, aside from Graves I believe this is the earliest we've gotten a commitment from a player under this staff. I'm pleasantly surprised the staff was able to get this done given Christian's tenuous hold on his job at the moment. I wonder if part of the sales pitch was that Bowman or Robinson isn't likely to be around after this season...

I find it odd a Top 150 kid wants anything to do with BC nowadays, but great pull by the staff

Just more confirmation that Heath the Thief didn't do anything but pull a paycheck while at BC.

I was just listening to Kevin Durant's interview on the Bill Simmons podcast. There was a question about why all the elite players in the DC area leave instead of playing at Maryland or Georgetown and he said that no one would go to Maryland unless they wear Under Armour shoes in AAU. Do you think this is a factor thet's hurting BC basketball? or are they so bad right now that it doesn't really matter? There aren't any Boston area AAU teams sponsored by Under Armour.

Sadly yes this factor is not helping. They'd be better off with Nike or Adidas

I don't think this makes a difference personally. Whatever you want to say about UAs bball business, they have become dominant in the football footwear market at the HS level, and I haven't seen that make a huge impact in recruiting for anyone. Obv the AAU factor is a variable not seen with FB, but the apparel provider for BCBB is the least of their worries at this point.

The two major programs in Boston are sponsored by Nike and Adidas. It doesn't help

BC will bring in No. 55 Jairus Hamilton next weekend, source told ESPN. UNC, Duke offered. Can’t remember kid ranked this high visiting BC.

Cheeks has displayed more effort in 1 day than Stan Heath did in 2 years.

With a NIT team and a good recruiting class JC could save himself.

I'm not sure if Eppy is ripping off the guy on the godforsaken hockey site with his Stan Heath one-liners or if it's the other way around because THE CLOCK ON THIS SITE IS ALWAYS WRONG

247/Scout lists BC, with Maryland and NCSU, as being "warm"/favorites for Hamilton. He visited Maryland this weekend and a bunch of those analysts picked predicted the Terps after the visit, but who knows

He’s not going to play.

His career can be summed up in the exhibition where he nearly broke the backboard with a dunk and followed it with two 3s that were both air balls and missed the basket by a combined 5 feet.

Yeah I only saw him play some minutes against one of the OOC opponents at Conte last yr where there were just 100 ppl in the stands, tops. Think he scored 2 pts in the game.

BC had Joseph Girard III on a visit today for the Duke game. He has basketball offers from BYU, UMass, Penn State, St. Joes and Washington and an offer to play QB at Tulane.

247 has him as a top 200 player and rivals has him as a top 150 player. 6'1 guard from Glens Falls, NY

Short, white, and has nothing more to his game than a 3pt shot. No thanks!

More good news coming to BC hoops based off some not so subtle hints from @Zacklopedia... :) #SOAR

Apparently referring to something on EA message board, anyone have access ? Is it re: Hamilton ?

Chris Cheeks is paying off I guess. I'd still be shocked if they landed Hamilton, they're fishing with the sharks on him.

JC would buy himself another year with Tabbs and Hamilton coming in.

He's a football player similar to Bowman and no he doesn't play in the middle of nowhere.

It still doesn't explain what he's doing on an ACC roster

Refer back to here on Wilson also.

We've past the early signing period... correct? So, if it was a kid from 2018, the call on Jimmy Mac would have already been made. Correct?

I think this is somewhat misleading. If you look at the schools that are actively recruiting him, BC isn’t that far out of a perceived “universe”. The schools that have actively been recruiting, and appear to be finalists include BC, Maryland, Mississippi St. and NCSU, none of which are major outliers. While he may have reported offers from UA, KU and UNC, I would guess most had much higher priorities that would make Hamilton a plan B type. You are right however, that a class of Hamilton/Tabbs and the potential of some postseason invite would bring JC back another year.
