9903,

You have joined the pack of zealots who've earned alma mater fans the squalid rep they now have.

Sad.

Don't blame me, I went to Providence.

(I did not actually go to Providence, before someone tries to kick me out of the EO Lounge country club)

How about talking some basketball, for a change?

Some questions:

1. How many wins for alma mater this year?

2. How many season tickets will sell?

3. In which year will JC be named ACC Coach of the Year?

4. Who among y'all will buy season tickets?

5. When will the first McDonalds All American enroll here?

6. When will we have our next NBA draftee?

7. When will we next beat Harvard?

8. When will Coach K retire and be replaced by JC?

9. When will we next beat Bryant?

10. When will we move to D-3 status?

In actual recruiting news............ :81

ERIC HOFFSES ‏@EAHoffses 2h
4-star G Donovan Mitchell will visit #BCEagles today. 4-star F Steve Enoch will visit BC tomorrow

I was under the impression Enoch visited a couple of weeks ago, maybe that was untrue.
:screamyeagle

Here's a couple from this week I don't think got posted here

Alex Kline ‏@TheRecruitScoop Jun 20
Boston College offered 2016 center Jordy Tshimanga of New England Playaz (MA), his coach announced. TCU & Nebraska recently did, as well.

Jerome Robinson 6"4 2015 @GRoadBBall tells me Boston College has now offered @rome_coldbucks3

Not that I care that much about stars (although it would be fun to finally get some highly touted recruits whether they are 5, 4 or 3 stars...), but it is awesome to see our new recruiting strategy under the new regime so far.

The focus seems to be solely on these highly touted guys right now, and seems like they won't move on to plan B guys until they miss out on these guys (if they miss out at all).

It's truly refreshing to see us using that tried on true method of working the best guys first then moving on to the 2nd tier when necessary rather than just assuming we have no chance with the to tier guys.

Don't know how Christian and his staff will be when it actually comes to games, but I applaud the recruiting strategy thus far. Now the real question, and I guess the only thing that matters is whether or not we can actually land a couple of these guys. If we get one, I get the feeling that a domino effect could happen because we have so many spots open and these highly touted kids love to play with each other.

Another reminder that blue-chip recruits don't fall from the sky - you almost always have competition from at least one or two elite programs.

If Dillard (6'5", 205, Gary, IN, Bowman Academy) has any interest in BC, it will be a complete reversal of form. All his schools of interest at present are within several hours' drive of his home. Purdue has been going after him hard and appears to have the inside track at present. The only good thing is that BC is a total outlier in Dillard's recruiting picture; if he wants to really get away from home, BC would appear to have no competition.

Dillard is a strong and hyperathletic slasher, a highlight-film dunker with a so-so perimeter game. He also has a temper; he knocked a teammate unconscious in a preseason fight in the school gym during practice, and was suspended for the first three games of the season. If he can keep himself under control, he would undoubtedly give a boost to BC's toughness factor, but I have to rate him an unlikely recruit.

While we're on the subject of recruiting, Steve Enoch just visited BC at the end of a whirlwind four-day tour that also took him to UConn, Providence, and URI. Today he's down in NJ visiting Seton Hall. If BC wins this recruiting battle, it might be the most earthshaking event in New England since the 18th-century Cape Ann earthquake.

Totally unsurprising. As the #1 NE prospect in 2015, Adams had to be a major UConn target, and with the examples of Kemba Walker and Shabazz Napier to lure him, how could he say no?

Providence doesn't have recent national championships and first-round NBA draft selections to throw on the table, which are the kind of currency that attracts players at Adams' level.

Oh, and it's worth noting in passing that NERR, among all the returning players of all class years in NE, rates only one ahead of Adams - Tomas Murphy (soon to be seen with Falzon, Sharma, Sistare & Co. at NMH).

Nwankwo is a big kid (6'10", 245) who reportedly rebounds well at both ends and appears to have a good deal of upside. BC offered him in March, about the same time as SH and Tenn.; Minnesota offered him back around Labor Day 2013 (their kind of player - large). Nwankwo seems to have moved into **** territory lately, so new high-major offers may appear.

"Slipping away" is evidence of past overoptimism; Mitchell has been marked as blue-chip talent for quite a while, so it was clear he was going to be a tough get. He plays for Brewster but he's from NY, so he could end up in any part of the country.

BTW, Matt Ryan committed to Notre Dame. He was a recruiting leftover from Donahue, so I'd pretty much dismissed him, but it's always irritating to have someone you recruited playing in the same conference.
